work help: When I plug headphones into my Acer Aspire 3680-2626 laptop, they don’t work right away. - Help.com

When I plug headphones into my Acer Aspire 3680-2626 laptop, they don’t work right away.

Often I would have to leave them plugged in for several hours before I could hear anything. If I reboot my laptop, I have to start the whole process again. It happens this way for every set of headphones i’ve tried.

Any idea why this happens?

Sounds like the headphones hardware on your laptop might be malfunctioning. Do you have your recovery disks? Have you tried the headphones in a different place to see if they work?
