I bought my computer with a package of Hardware Compact

and hp screen about a year, I had three screen during during this time, and all of them became black, or they were broken. I bought my computer with rebate. I would like to know if this hp manufacturer are selling this kind of offer to allow the consumer to buy a lot of computers, or change to other manufacter. In my opinion they are losing their prestige as manufacturer that they have long time ago. So, I am very worried with this company.

Compaq and HP are the same company now, and I don’t like them very much either. However, I don’t think that HP is trying to sell junk…I would bet that there might be another explanation. What that is, I don’t know.

I don’t think that HP makes the monitors. I do know that they don’t make all of their Presario line. Part of that line is outsourced to e-machines. My son worked for Best Buy. He showed me a rack of HP’s waiting for repair and most of them were manufactured by e-machines. He could tell the difference by the serial number. About 4 years ago my other son bought a Compaq system with a CRT monitor. The monitor went out in two days. After a phone call to HP the monitor was replaced by express the next day. I have had two Compaq computers. My first one was purchased in the 90’s and my latest was purchased around 2000. I bought an older model of the shelf at Circuit City at a bargain price. I have had good luck with both systems and I only bought the second unit to get a faster system. So far the only thing I’ve done to it is to add more disk, memory and wireless accesses. I’ve had my Philips monitor for about 12 years now.
