I am really really down to day.
I have been for a few days. All I want to do is sleep this feeling away. I have work to do … it’s horrible. I feel weak, drained and very, very sad.

well apparently im not the only one…!
you have descrbed EXACTALLY how this week has been for me…
I am going through the exact same thing- Been sad since Monday…having trouble with the boyfriend. :( I have no appetite..
everyone has days like this
i’ve got work to do, tons of it, and i just can’t because of my mood….always so tired as well…
Okay, maybe this isn’t for everybody and don’t take my advice if you think it isn’t right for you, but have you let yourself have a good, big, gut wrenching cry? I have been holding on to so many hard-to-face problems and last night I just gave in and let myself sob and sob. it didn’t help immediately and certainly didn’t solve anything practically, but it did kick me out of the horrible depression I have been in for the last week.
els is right. Having a cry can be so helpful, as long as you can stop crying at some point. The mere act of crying can release endorphins which actually help you feel better. Other things that do this are exercising and eating chocolate (dark especially). Try these things along with talking to someone can help break you out of a blue funk.
Yes, the can’t stop crying thing is just horrible, but still, it releases something inside. Getting out and exercising is always good. I’ve had to drag, drag, drag, myself out at times, but normally feel better afterwards.
Mmmmmm chocolate.
Thanks all for your comments … I did end up having a good cry … uncontrolled … until it was over … ugh … I believe I am on the upswing again. I hope we are all feeling better. I ended up with the flu to boot!
well i haven’t been on the site but saw your post and i’m happy your feeling better.
hi well i guess am more like everyone on this page am feeling down for a very very long time it doesnt mean i want to kill myslef but yeah sometimes i wish i could just to into bed and not wake up till things are a better try talking to someone or writing in a diary hope these get better for the both of us!
i can relate to you on that one! i have been feeling down on and off for almost 3 months now- ever since i got back to college for my spring semester. im not sure whats triggered it, but i always feel like sleeping (and yet- can never fall asleep..slight insomnia), im very moody, and just dont want anyone in my space. i find it very tiring to be around people lately, which is completely out of my character. what ive been doing is working out a lot (which makes me sleep better and releases endorphins), trying to eat healthy (it works wonders), and looking at the bigger picture (believe it or not, no matter how bad you’re feeling, things could ALWAYS be worse..be thankful for what you have). its tough, but you can get through it. oh and like everyone has said above crying helps too. best of luck!
I know how you feel i have been there many times. Just concentrate on one day at a time. Wake up and have a routine .. think about what your going to do that day. Also concentrate on posotive things in your life because there are probably lots of things just you cant see it right now because of this feeling.
Heres an interesting take on depression:

also, Melatonin, and Valerian (both can be bought at Walmart) can help with sleep, so can calms forte, also bought there.
Blessings…
What helps me is just getting outside and taking a walk. Commit to walking for at least 20 minutes and let your thoughts just be taken by the wind. I would suggest a yoga class or some guided meditation. Also buy the audiobook Getting Unstuck by Pembra Chandron (sp?) but it’s amazing. Good luck to you.

Smile. Think of how important you are and of all the wonderful things you do for other people. Go outside. Smile at someone. Say thanks to a shop assistant even if you just buy gum. Help an old lady across the street. Tell someone that they look great. Pick some wild flowers and put them in a vase on your kitchen window. Reply to someone on help.com!!! Doing something good for someone always makes me feel better. Smile!
