School year in Quebec.

Hey, does anyone here know how long the school year is in Quebec? I’m hopefully going to be teaching there next year (interview on Tuesday!) and I’d like to know some rough term dates. Thanks very much!

Man, skip over Quebec and go to Ontario!

Just kidding. Alas, I do not know the term dates. Sorry for being so terribly unhelpful and posting my prideful bias towards my province. :D

What are the dates for Ontario? (I’m a French student, so it has to be Quebec… well, it could be France but I like to be awkward!)

To be honest, I don’t really know anymore. I’m in University now, and have been for some time. But I do think that the school term in ONT goes from September till June with breaks in between of course, though I could very well be mistaken. Uni has got everything mixed up for me.

Also, you’re probably better off in Canada than in France. At least this way you stay within the Empire, haha.

Hah, yeah, I suppose! My University actually advises against going to Quebec but… with me, telling me not to do something isn’t a good idea… basically, do you remember how long you got for Christmas? And did you have a Spring break or a longer Easter break?

Christmas Break, I believe, included the week before Christmas Eve to about the week after New Year’s Day. And when I went we had a Spring Break, but that may have changed. I’ve been living in the US for the past few years and have just discovered they changed the names of the Territories and of Newfoundland, so I’m really far behind on the times.

Christmas and March break: 2 weeks
Easter break: 4 days
