Love help: I am a high school senior from Iowa that is planning to attend college on the east coast next year. - Help.com

I am a high school senior from Iowa that is planning to attend college on the east coast next year.

I have never had a boyfriend both because it has never been convenient and because I have never found someone right for me. Well, I found someone. Problem: I leave in two months. Should I just continue to try to ignore my feelings (and, I suspect, his) to save us pain later? Or is two months of happiness better than nothing? Will I regret it if I don’t try? Or will I regret leaving if I do?

I think if you found someone like…soon…ie within the next week, id go for the fun…

But honestly if you suspect it could get serious or are afraid of a serious thing, id wait.

i wouldn’t worry too much about breaking his heart when you leave. while you’re away at college and dating guys, he will date other girls in iowa. date him now if you like him.

I wouldn’t go for it, its never good to start a relationship when knowing there’s a “timeline”.

‘it is better to have loved and lost than to never have lost at all’

I had a similar situation my seinor year. I went for it, we both knew he was leaving at the end of the summer, and yes it was sad when it happened but I still think back to it and get warm fuzzies.
