I don’t find that they do.
But wtvr, anyone who’d judge you cause of your religion doesn’t deserve your time, so **** ‘em.

Well I dont actually know if im Wiccan or not, but Ive been looking up stuff about it, and everything i look up talks about how wiccans are rejected and its not considered a “real” religion. The president even made a bad comment about Wiccans when he was talking about the army and their right. I was just wondering..

It’s a pretty young religion, so it’ll take awhile for it to be widely accepted, I guess.
But if you’re looking at Wiccan sites and such, the information there of their treatment is going to be pretty biased.

They’re just like any other minority that is judged, scrutinized, and because they are different they are looked down upon by many that don’t even take the time of day to understand them or their beliefs…

Personally I don’t know much about it, but I don’t care if you’re Wiccan, Atheist, Buddhist, Catholic, or WHATEVER…as long as you’re a genuine and nice person you’re cool in my book.

Why would a site made of all sorts of religions be biased against wicca? And if they are, thats more proof that Wiccans get a lot of hate.

Thats the way I like to think too dizzydaisy, and its true about people not taking time to understand what they are scrutinizing.

No, I meant if you look at a Wiccan site, and they’re complaining (for lack of a better word) of the way they’re treated, that’s going to be biased.
And I guess Wiccans are associated with witches, and we all know the history witches have with society lol

I suppose wiccans are still associated with witches, but actually have nothing to really do with them. And theyre not complaining, theyre just talking about how most wiccans dont tell people they are wiccan because they use to get physically assulted.

there are a lot of people on this site too that shove their beliefs down other peoples throats to “help” people, instead of giving good advice not based solely on THEIR religion….

Wiccans probably will be persecuted for some time like the Jews, Witches, and others have been for years… It’s sad, but all one can do is educate people so they are not so ignorant.

The Wiccan religion is one of the oldest around, when people didn’t have to pretend their god existed they believed gods to be the power of nature that they could feel and touch. Wiccans get a bad press because people are scared of their views.

wiccans are cool and its got nothing to do with the christian churches depiction of long nosed hags…. maybe there used to be christian witches that looked like that

Some of your information is wrong. Wiccans usually actually are Witches. Some of them aren’t, and you can be a Witch without being a Wiccan. I’m not a Wiccan, but rather a Pagan (Wiccan based.) It’s a tiny bit different, but I still know a lot about Wicca. The thing with those of Wiccan faith is with all the hate, we don’t hate back. We try not to get too insulted. You might get some crap, but usually, people (especially ones with young minds) are very accepting. It’s known in my school that I’m a Pagan/Wiccan and gay, and so far, I haven’t gotten any grief about it. Sure, there are haters and the like. However, we accept their religion and believe that our way isn’t necessarily the right or the only way to go.

thats the thing, within paganism there are so many branches its easy to get confused let alone know who is what, wiccans are not witches in the sense of long nosed hags brewing nasty spells over couldrons and eating little boys and girls etc etc, that is just unfortunate misrepresentation and not on the part of the witches i am sure, but its just that everyone associates wicca with witches and wizardry, i personally think they are interesting people and have a few of cunnninghams books even though i am not a wiccan or pagan… his herb book is most useful, i think we just have to know what we are talking about with regards to anyones religion and then we wont hate them for their religion

personally, i went to a winter solstice thing and it was ooooohhh so cold and my feet froze but there were people there obviously enjoying it, even the big fire in the middle didn’t help warm us up lol but it was cool the way we spoke to mother earth and all that, i was actually doing it with druids but all pagans celebrate the solstices etc etc, its one heck of an interesting way of life and yeah it teaches to live in harmony with nature which is something we ALL need to learn to do
