How can I get my Ubuntu Windows to detect a Belkin Wireless N router?

I had to upgrade my wireless network to wireless in. I formerly had a Linksys wireless G which my ubuntu detected. But i had to do a mandatory upgrade today and my ubuntu doesnt really want to detect it. The router detects it but the computer doesnt exactly want to detect it.

You cannot “detect” a router. Ethernet is a standard protocol, so is wireless.

That’s the fun and challenging part about using Linux. First I suggest you contact Belkin to see if there are any software drivers available for Linux. If that fails to yield and results contact Ubuntu Support. If they can’t help you can next try an Ubuntu forum such as http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.ph… .

Thank you both, I just decided to go back with Linksys. The computer automatically detects Linksys, thank heavens.
