Keep it simple and sweet with a smokey eye using brown eyeshadow, or even an olive green metallic shadow… think natural and dewey… natural cheeks and lips (not nude) with a hint of shine or glimmer.

I actually diagree with dizzydaisy! I think you should go more on the colorful side! Try a little pale orange or pale green(not olive but not lime or dark) shadow with thin black eyeliner(a liquid would work best). Depending on if your lips are full or not would change the gloss but for the cheeks go almost nude. Just one or two light strokes of blush(or try piching your cheeks for some color, that would eleminate the problem of uneveness!)Bu tgo wiht dizzydaisy about the simmer or glitter! it would give your look that little something extra!! It really depends on how tan you are too… if you’re on the darker side, a sunkissed glowy look would be great too with golden lids.

looking at these pictures I can see why I disagree with dizzydaisy! She is saying to go natural and dark but I believe with the color dress you chose a more upbeat colorful look like I explained above! Not saying dizzydaisy is wrong or that that wouldn’t work I just think the more colorful look would really make your face and dress POP!

I have to disagree. Personally I feel a more colorful face would not make her dress pop… too “poppy” of a face will distract from her dress, which has a LOT of detail that she would want to show off.

My opinion, keep it simple, and sultry…

Considering her being tan, sometimes a paler green looks weird and a nude lip if not done correctly can look like she’s tanned too much and starts looking unnatural…

If the dress didn’t have silver on it, I would have chosen gold. But yeah now I guess silver is a good choice so it doesn’t clash… maybe some earrings like the ones she’s wearing in that shot too! It’ll compliment the silver stuff on the dress… I’d wear heavier earrings with a lighter necklace.. especially if your hair will be down… but I guess it just depends on the right jewelry..

dizzydaisy if you say go with heavier earrings then they will be nothing like the ones JLo has on! She is wearing drops and drops are like the lightest! But I do agree with you! Silver! Heavier earrings, lighter necklace! And Ashleyy! Don’t hat eyour dress I love it! The color will look great with your skin and your makeup will pull it all together!

I am inclined to think that your dress and you are in a bit of
a competition because of the color. Therefor stronger colors
are needed to keep the focus on you .

I guess I’m agreeing more with “l0langles”.
It seems to me that if the dress was more plain
then the subtle colors would go well with it.
But your dress is bright and I think you have to
compete. After all you are the prize not the dress.
My dictionary defines prize as “anything striven for
or worth striving for”.

wow… I couldn’t disagree more… but ok.. you’re entitled to your opinion..

You pick what you want to accentuate and then go from there… If everything is loud then things get complicated and you can’t focus on one thing… believe it or not, by playing down her makeup it will draw attention to her face… when too many things fight for attention then it just looks like one big mess!

She chose to go with a dress that has pop and stands out… therefore she probably should choose to accentuate the dress by toning down the makeup and framing her face based on the cut of the dress… but again… only my opinion.

well “dizzydaisy” I have to admit you do make some strong points.
So I think I don’t know what to do. Both approaches could work nicely.

I think her makeup should be BOLD, but simple… if that makes any sense whatsoever!

In any case, I like the photo she chose… I think that whole look would go nicely with the dress.

I agree with dizzydaisy about being bold but not too wild! Thats why I said something like a plae or light orange for the eyes, a pinch of color on the cheeks, and balance it out with a clear or small pink lip!

actually, u all have good points. but whut i think willbe best for thatdress is a dark brown eye liner ( put on thin just around the edges) and a pale, pretty orange for eye shadow (think sunflower) lip gloss, nothing bold, it would ruin the patern go with a glossy light brown or just glossy. as for vlush donot go to over board , like u may not even need any but if u like some on then put a couple swips on but i repeat DONOT GO OVER BOARD. it would ruin the commplexion. hope this helps.

lmao…. girls… we could go on for hours! I think Ashley has made up her mind. My opinion on nude lips… they only look good on some people. I like them when they’re done right… but they’re really easy yo get WRONG.. that the only reason I would steer clear of them.
