I don’t think I should have done this.

My best friend writes notes to her softmore friends and her boyfriend and passes it to them in the hallways. This past December, her notes were scattered and obviously had been read. This made her cry and suspect the wrong people.

I had been told by the person who did it who read her notes. I forgot to tell her, and when I saw her tonight, I did.

Now, the girl who did it, “Jess” is going to get talked to by my best friend. I don’t know if I’m the only one Jess told, but I hope I don’t get in trouble with both of my friends.
I don’t know what to do or how to comfort my friend. :/ I’m afraid I’m going to get in trouble.

Well, ask your best friend not to mention that you were the one who told.
And anyways, why would you want to stay friends with such a mean-spirited person, who would take someone’s private notes and scatter them all around for everyone? If she’s willing to betray her, she’s probably willing to betray you, too.

Jess put you in a tough situation by telling you that she did it. She shouldn’t have expected you to keep a secret like that against your other friend. If she’s upset tell her that if someone did that to her you would tell her who did it.
