thanks to our suckass governor the school budgets in california are being dramaticly cut, meaning almost no art or music classes great teachers losing their jobs and even some English classes being cut. WHATS UP WITH THAT!!!
im am so frustrated being a high school sophomore, this directly affects me and my fellow students.
I am going to write a letter to him and go to the capital sometime this week and tell him how i feel, any tips of what i should put into this letter?

If you want to be taken seriously, then be mature.

yeah well I live in Las Vegas! Sin City Baby! And we have had that problem since I started middle school 4 years ago! No never held back! Writing to the government, talking to them, cussing at them, or screaming at them doesn’t help! Just get used to it sweetie!!!

i figured that cussing at him wouldn’t work, and it’s not that i seriously think that just because i told him that i think should do this, that he is going to give the schools back our money, but it is more because i feel like i should say something. ya know?
make some sort of a statement

Just give your reasons with backing, in a well-written format, and you’ll have done your part. If you want to go above and beyond, you can ask others to do the same if they don’t like it. You could organize a protest, get news crews there, make a big scene…

But enough about what I would do.

Actually… do keep in mind that he isn’t taking any pay for this. He is running your state for free.

Last I checked, he was refusing to accept pay. Of course, last I checked was when he first got the position.

I was also going to suggest getting a rally of interested students, teachers, parents, community members, etc. together to show that this is really a big issue. If I lived there I’d come, Music was what made my HS days worthwhile :)

Tell him how you feel… like what you said to us, but make it sound more adultish.

Just one piece of advice…don’t threaten him.
Results can be deadly.

Write your letter from the heart, use appropriate language. You might want to have some of your classmates write as well. The Govenor has children your age, you may want to speak to him as a parent of children who currently attend CA schools. Try not to be too harsh in your tone, but appeal to his parental nature. Address the letter to his wife as well, sort of like a letter they may get from their children’s school. You can really make your letter stand out by approaching the issue from that angle. It wouldnt be offensive, and it would show creativity and it would make him take a more human approach to the situation and not just a governmental approach. Good luck…I can see a future in politics for you…
