doxycycl hyc 100mg has basicaly ruined my life!
!!
First off it made me throw up in the mornings so everyone at school thought I was preg! and it gave me a yeast infection because its an antibiotic, AND I guess I had a pill in my pocket at softball practice one day and it fell out of my pocket and my coach found it and SWEARS to high heaven that it is a diet pill so she thinks I am on a diet now when im only 5′2 115lbs!! and I tried to tell her today that it was an antibiotic and she said that she ran the number(or something like that) that was on the pill and it showed up as a diet pill. Now Im not sure how exactly she just typed in the number on he pill witch says “mutual 105″ and found out its a diet pill..

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
have you told your doctor? there might be an alternate prescription that ou’d have better luck with.
Antibiotic do give women yeast infections. You are suppose to eat yogurt while taking antibiotics to avoid yeast infections.
sometimes amoxicillin can be used instead of doxy depending on the problem it’s needed for ask your doctor. also always eat with it. It can make you sick on an empty stomach.
**** me this conversation is boring. Id rather scratch my nose off.
amoxy won’t help the yeast infection almost all anitibiotics do that to women.
You should go into any pharmacist take the container and the pills
and ask the pharmacist what is it that drug. They will tell you.
Ask the pharmacist what is this drug used for. Is it used for treating
the disease that the doctor told you you have. If if it looks incorrect
go back to your doctor and tell your doctor what the pharmacist said.
Your life is not ruined. You are just having a bad couple of days. The situation with your gym teacher can be straitened out. Show proof of what the medication was and why you are taking it. Problem solved and maybe your teacher will even apologize to you.
Im not braging about it! I was takein it for acne. and I have stopped takeing it honestly this post was just for me to vent about how horrible my exsperience with this pill has been, also yes antibiotics CAN cause yeast infections.
after taking pill ended up with pneumonia and went to hospital. what are the side effects and is there some connection to penicillin or someone who is allergic to penicillin?
This post needs to be taken off. Someone seriously looking for information on this medication could be misled. I am sorry this young lady had a bad day but it was not the medications fault. There is not shame in taking a pill to treat acne or any other problems one may diagnosed with. People use the internet to find out more about their conditions and medications.
you dumb ***** or crazy dumb ***** i have taken it didint hurt me
I was directed here because I was looking for real information about this medication.
What I found was more like MySpace whining then Health and Drug information. This entire post should be deleted.
You’re not supposed to eat for 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating this… I’m on it right now… and yes having an empty stomach does make me sick, but I want it to work the way it’s supposed to, so I follow the instructions anyway.
What does this pill look like?
What color is this pill? Does it work?
my pills are a light blue caplet. the pills upsset my stomach and i always seem to get a headache.
Alright, to one of the posts above, you should NOT eat yogurt while on these type of meds to prevent yeast infections. Yogurt might actually make it more likely. By the way, WTF was the pill in your pocket for, & in gym class of all places?
i agree, please remove the post because it mislead me into thinking doxy was bad.
There are a few questionable replies I’ve seen on here and my Doctor just prescribed Doxycycl HYC for a urinary tract infection. The directions are that you should eat a snack or small meal with the medication if you find it bothers your stomach. Yogurt may be fine in helping to rid you of a yeast infection when taking an antibiotic, but it says also to not take any dairy products 2 hours before or 2 hours after you take the antibiotic.
In comment to the student regarding the pill, always check with the school before hand with a note from your doctor before bringing any medication to school with you. Nuff said!
I too, was looking to get some real information on this drug and was scared to death when I read the title of this post. I have been taking it for 7 days now so for about 30 seconds I was terrified. This should be deleted, it’s ridiculous.
Whiny little high school kids… Geez. It clearly states on there that it may make you nauseous, so eat a small snack with it. And you shouldn’t be carrying pills around in your pocket in school anyway. You only have to take these pills twice a day. Morning and night. No need to even BRING them to school.
This is my second day on em, and I’m taking another prescription with them. Same doc gave em to me. So guess they’re okay together. I just feel a little loopy. heh

If you rad the insert for doxy, taking dairy products within two hours of taking a pill reduces or eliminates its effectiveness. On the other hand, you need to drink A LOT of water when taking the pill. At least 8 oz, but more would be better. Both before and after the pill.
Once again, eating yogurt can INCREASE the risk of getting a yeast infection! If eaten in large amounts, yeh people, so listen, I’m a nurse. Second, put the **** pill in a container, not loose in your pocket, that’s icky. Third, Doubtmenow is right on one thing for sure, you didn’t even need to bring the pill to school. You created this situation because you’re prolly one of those girls that wants people to know she’s on meds to get attention. Now you want to whine about some thing that’s entirely your own fault. Go to hell little girl.
