I recently installed WindowsXP SP3.

When I Open Sound and Audio device properties, I see the message No Sound Device. I tried to install from motherboard CD, Internet, Downloaded many drivers but of no use. I don’t even see Audio Codecs Installed in device Manager.

Can someone help? Please..

Uninstall sp3 and then install all of the drivers that you need then reinstall the update. sp3 has bugs some drivers dont work correctly and you cannot reinstl the drivers while sp3 is installed. Hope this helps :-)

Thanks for the quick reply, but I had slip-streamed SP3 in my SP2 share before installation, burned the CD and Installed Windows from it. Any advice for this stupid, stupid man my dear friend. (Why o Why I use Windows when Linux is there?)

Check Microsoft’s web site and see if there is a work around for installing drivers when sp3 is installed. :-)

Been there done that. Do you really think Microsoft will make its customer’s life easy. Here is for your and other’s amusement. I purchased Legit WinXP CD, I installed three times and I have to call the support person to get Installation ID every time. I thought I paid for the CD to own it and use It as much and however I want as long as I don’t make illegitimate copies. Ain’t that cool

(why in the world I do that? You might ask. Well… I like to play around)
