Is life worth living?

I’m dead serious, what is the point of living. We’re born just to work hard our whole lives so we can impress people who are gonna die to pursue a happiness that can be taken away in an instant just to leave a legacy that will be forgotten. Alexander the great ruled most of the world and was one the richest men in history yet he was unhappy and no one today could give a crap about him, he is meaningless.
Don’t tell me you have to make a choice to be happy cause that is the most moronic thing in the universe. I shouldn’t have to convince myself to be happy and satisfied in my meaningless existence.
If there isn’t any god or consequences for my actions then why try to be moral. Why don’t I toss others aside and greedily pursue my own lusts and desires.
If there isn’t a god then why postpone the only peace we’re offered.

I’ve contemplated this question many times myself, and frequently arrived at the same conclusion as you. Every time I think of it though, I stay inthat mood for a day or two, and then something happens. Sometimes it’s the way the sunset illuminates my back yard, and makes all of the trees a brilliant green. Sometimes I think about the many things I’ve yet to do in life, (travel, be in a relationship with someone, experience “love” for the first time, see my children, and just live.)So yes, I agree that the vast majority of society sucks, but I choose to be moral because I feel good about it. And if you don’t think that karma exists, believe me it does, I’ve seen it in action. Life is worth living, trust me. The world needs people like you. People who question existence. Without people like you, the world would cease to evolve, and exist.

Even if someone pursues religion whats the chance that they’ll stumble upon the right religion.

Strange that I came to this site a few minutes ago because I am depressed also. You were not put here to impress anyone.Ruling the world sounds like a pain in the a.. to me and riches are but a collection of material things, neither of which are going to bring you true happiness. You believe in your God and have morals obviously.God promised you that peace.Seek happiness and enjoy the things you have.

I don’t know if I am wrong (to me I am right though), a legacy doesn’t mean you will be honored and remembered in 10 or even 5 years it means that one day you got up did something that seemed insignificant to you but impacted someone so much that it caused a ripple affect that changed the course of a future and you do this without knowing it or expecting any sort of praise. If you want to be praised start some fake religious thing that honors you but remember nothing.. nothing , last forever.

Saying that there isn’t any god/spiritual force and worrying about being moral is quite ridiculous. Something supernatural would have to enforce and more importantly create this moral code. If their were no divine entity to define morality than corrupt humans are left to this daunting task. If you tell me to be moral and also that there is no god then your telling me to apply limitations to my pursuits for your and others sake. Why? Why should I even care about others? Should I let my myself be restrained by being afraid of retribution being sought out by other men. The worst men can do is kill me and that isn’t all that bad if there is no god to persecute me for my corrupt moral stature in an afterlife. Morality and recompense are religious objects.

the meaning of life is to have fun. (at least that is my meaning) but with that you must be able to face the results that come with it.

Maybe it is, maybe not, but how R u gonna find out with out living it? Nothing is a fact before it has actually happend. Life maybe an experiment, but none should claim they have the answer to it, or the meaning of it. There has allways been and will allways be different ways to do things. Whether it’s effecient, beneficial or whatever, deppends on what one wants out of it. All roads lead to Rome, though the condition, context and lenght may differ from road to road.

nah, anyone can die.

maybe to find happiness, or just to seek it? or to make one other person in this world happy?

imagine if we all lived like that. if we could be happy if we just succeeded in making one other person in this world truly happy…
