I was involved in a hit and run back in October.

We got the person who did it. Since the wreck I lost my job because of the back injury. I am having surgery next month(april 17th). We are hurting financially and I dont know what to do. I am behind in all of my bills. Advice would be appreciated because I have no where to turn.
Thanks

you have no information on who did it? what have the police done for you? best advise is to figure out who did this .. as there has to be damage to a car some where and sue the crap out of their insurance.

legal action against the person who caused the accident is all you can do.

If the person who hit you has insurance, then their insurance is obligated to pay your for your pain and suffering on top of the medical bills and as well as any time lost on your job and for loss of use of a vehicle if your car was hit.

I suggest you get a pro-bono lawyer as soon as possible. Insurance companies train their employees to intimidate and withhold information from people who file claims against them, so unless you really know the ins and outs of auto insurance, you won’t be able to get them to pay for everything yourself. A pro-bono lawyer only takes a set percentage of the money that you get from the insurance above a certain limit. Even though they will take some of the money you will get, you will almost always end up getting more money from an insurance claim if you have a lawyer.

Do not talk to the other insurance company without your lawyer! They will try to trick you into agreeing to a lower amount than you are entitled to.

If the person who hit you does not have insurance, then I would still suggest getting a lawyer and going after the person for your injuries.

Then see if Aflac or someone can help you. I don’t know if Aflac will take on customers who already have a need, but they might.

then you need to get a hold of your attorney and force them to pay.. or get something in writing that their insurance is liable for payment of all medical..

I was involved in a hit and run this past weekend. I was in the car and tried to pursue but when I called the police they advised me to stop or I would be in trouble. When the cop finally showed up 30 mins later he didnt help at all. He gave me a form to mail in. He didnt take any statements from me the witness’s or look at the evidence or scene. wtf is that? he didnt even care he didnt even want to know what the car that hit me looked like. Now i am out a lot of money and i really need to go to the doc but i have to pay all out of pocket. who knew if you run from your accident you get off so easy. How did you catch the person? I myself I am trying to identify the person who hit me. any advice?

Well I was lucky. Someone got the cartag and I traced them via the internet.
