friends help: I went to a post office in England today to exchange some Euros for pounds sterling. - Help.com

I went to a post office in England today to exchange some Euros for pounds sterling.

I was asked if I had a receipt and if I had purchased them there, to which the answer was no, they were a gift from a friend in Belgium. I was then advised that as had not got them from theer that they could not echange them for pounds. I could NOT believe it. I went back and was told the same thing again. I said that I wished to write and complain and said that was impossible as that was the situation. Considering that we are in Europe, could hardly believe this situation. Of course they said “bye” in unison to add to the effect. Hotsatsuma.
