Here’s a link to a website called Free Rice.
All you have to do is this
Example of a question:
trickery means:
2. heroism
3. reviewer
4. shopping center
5. deception
And if you answer it right, you are donating 20 grains of rice (which doesnt seem to be alot but then it gets bigger right :D?) to needy ppl!
And it just takes, like 5 minutes of your time. (and u know, you could always go to a dictionary if you’re stuck :P)

How answering the question makes rice free?
Who pays for the donated rice?
The rice is paid for by the advertisers whose names you see on the bottom of your vocabulary screen. This is regular advertising for these companies, but it is also something more. Through their advertising at FreeRice, these companies support both learning (free vocabulary for everyone) and reducing hunger (free rice for the hungry). We commend these companies for their participation at FreeRice.
yay lilies~~~~~
:D you’re doing so much good to the world :D :D :D *hugs*
LOL thanks justlucky, there was a post on this last year and the users at that time had a contest on who could make the most rice in a day. :)
I tried that but really how can anyone trust them. Someone sits there and collects answers and then counts grains of rice. It sounds like a joke.

well, its like a triangle.
1. FreeRice posts questions
2. We answer them, each problem with an advertisement, and that company pays FreeRice. The more we do it, the more the advertising company pays FreeRice.
3. With the money, FreeRice buys rice
Like it says in the FAQ, they don’t just donate all the rice, because it’s like WE make it. Anyways, you don’t enter any personal info so you wouldnt lose anything :D
I am really hopeless with words but i’ll give it ago.
Imagine that: sorry needy people but there’re too little correct answers today, some of you will have to stay hungry this time.
That depends on the answers will people get the rice or no. That just seems weird.
For them it’s the question of life and death, isn’t it. Why those companies make it depend on something like other people’s intelligence just to let them have some food?
Okay, found some articles about freerice.com. I’m sure you are not the only person intrigued on how they give out rice to those who need help.:)
An internet word game has generated enough rice to feed 50,000 people for one day, the UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) has said.

IF you’re looking for a website to spend a bit of time, but not feel guilty about wasting time, try FreeRice.
Thanks for the links Lilies. I found out that Hunger site was created by same person too, I saw that some years ago.
They mentioned disclosure of whom they give the money is to make people trust them, but nothing about what do the companies gain from correct answers, in other words they still have to pay for rice their own money. How answers make a difference? Why not simply give it to needy people if they really want to and supposedly can help instead of making them wait 1 month for just 1-day portion of food? People need to eat everyday anyway, just once in many days is not enough even if they really get something from that compaign. So not only that is suspicous, but even with all proof that they’re not “unscrupulous scammers” it doesn’t actually solve the problem of world hunger.
I like :)I donated 1580 and was surprised i new some meanings to some words o.O but had to cheat on a few :P hehehe
I even added a banner to my profile and to some other sites :).
Im about to fall asleep so tomorrow i’ll give it another shot.
i actually have that site in my bookmarks… and go to it once in a while.. thanks for sharing… there is also a website in which if you go to it.. and sign up for a free sample of lemonade.. it donates lemonade to out soldiers..
