Most people who have ever known me have forgotten me.

I know this feeling, Emily…all too well.

But then I think of others I know that made an impression on me that most likely seem forgetable to the rest of the world and I know that there are others out there that remember me. You ARE and unforgetable person, I hope you know that!

On the other side, I think that we do not realize how many people might think of us several times through their life. I know there are folks who have been in my life who would assume I have forgotten them. However, some word, some musical phrase, some circumstance, even a scent, can wisk their face and name into my mind in a miilisecond. (And usually that moment is a warm moment when I think “I wish I could say thanks for adding that to my life.”)

In some ways, that is who each of us is: composites of the myriad of people with whom we have been in contact. So, in theory, we may “live on” for generations– or at least our influence does–whether for bad or for good, being “remembered” for a long, long time.

Even you, LazyDaze, whenever I am “fighting the good fight” to make my children eat what is set before them and appreciate our abundance of food here, I think that I am not alone, because of a post of yours I read months ago….so while I’m thinking of it…thanks :-)

Good for you! Keep up all of your “good fights”!

I would agree you are a little of both, you do try to work through things, but then right before you get there, you stop and go back in your shell. I hope one day you will be able to break that pattern and plow on through no matter how rough it is to get all of the way to the other side.

The closer you are to someone the less likely they are to forget you, but that isn’t always the case, we can impact people that we don’t even realize we are impacting.

In October I went to my 20th High School Reunion, I had the hardest time remembering people, I’d look at their name tags and I wouldn’t have a clue who they were, but they knew me. That makes you feel really awful, but it just goes to show you never know who is really paying attention.

I’d like to think someone of importance to you will never be forgotten. Just acquaintances and people of no real meaning to you will be forgotten.
I am in the middle of a break up and really do not want to be forgotten about, I want to be remembered and always remembered and now lol. I guess I am being selfish.
Don’t allow yourself to think like that, when you turn that way just do something to distract you and make you happpy. Pick up a book or go for a walk. Because if you wrestle with questions like that, you’ll never be happy.
I’m sure you are a wonderful person and the people who care about you and love you will always remember you for being great. But why be remembered right now, live life and be known in the present! Don’t worry about being remembered right now :)

I don’t know how or how long I will be remembered, but to point to another post by fengshuisweetheart, I walked in on a person I know talking about me at work today. Pretty nice, did not realy know that person cared that mutch.

You are liked by so many, outmost important to your close ones. They just don’t show it all the time.
