I was just wondering how the moderators got paid.

Yup, see the footer ;)

Also, there is only one moderator (CM). I am the programmer/designer (and I moderate) and Erik is the Boss man. We all moderate at times, CM more than Erik or myself.

Indeed. Help.com currently makes no profit. Like J-girl says, we are supported by CNET Networks, our parent company. And technically, even though I’m the moderator, I’m not even paid by by Help.com - officially I work for another CNET department. Funny, huh?

Personal privacy is very important to us. I assure you that we do not resell or distribute anything that is submitted by users here on Help.com. Comments and personal information are not traded to other organizations and none of it is used to make revenue.

We are currently being supported by CNET, our parent company. Eventually, we will have to earn money to be self-supporting. We haven’t figured out how to do that exactly, but it will probably come from advertising or sponsorships. You might notice that we recently started selling space for Google Ads…

Hello!
So really your just testing the traffic ……and if there is traffic!

So could I ask you would you still have this free to the users now!
Or how would they benifit from using it other wise!
I’m totally asking for myself…..I was interested because I was starting a dating services for people who had dating issues (THE DO”S AND DONT’s)But still very much like your company testing the traffic…..

I have many people interested world wide….but dont have not completed website yet!……Its word of mouth!
I offer this program for free…people tell me I should charge something not yet!…..just like you I have not figured out how I want to do this but I just wanted to see if me system would work and It has.
So I think it will stay free for the ones who signed up befor a certain dated.
Thanks for sharing this with me…..I ‘m very interested!
HUGS TO YOU !

Indeed, it is fair to say that we are seeing whether people would be interested in using this kind of website. We don’t have any plans to ever charge users for using Help.com.

Good luck with your dating advice site!
