I usualy wait untill I am so tired that I am asleep the minute my head hits the pillow, maybe some simple games would help? a book..?

I no lol if i cant sleep and i have a early start i start freaking out about it and force myself to sleep but it doesnt work and i get annoyed lol
If I’m getting up early, I always set a second alarm clock so I don’t worry about not hearing the first. Your mobile has usually got one.

there is no good way to close your mind becuz the more that you wanna close it the more it opens. i know how you feel. no matter how tired my body is i still dont sleep. why dont you try clearing your head of everything for 5 minutes, think of only a clear sky, and what makes you happy, just do not go to sleeping pills!! please!! they will only make you worse!
i cant sleep either well i dont think i did.. Im getting annoyed over just random noises and when i closemy eyes they hurt. I tried to sleeep and i cant..
my mind is always running i sleep with my eyes open somerimes. i get 2 hours sleep a night falling asleep is easy staying asleep is hard its every 10 2 15 minutes every hour i try to sleep.if i had 1 wish it would be to sleep a full 8 hours
its called insomnia. your body is tired but your brain wont shut off. i sing a 7 word song over and over or concentrate on breathing deeply. you can also try getting more excercize. some people say warm milk gives you just the right amount of protien and melatonin to make your body relax.i have the same problem.. right now im trying not to take a nap so maybe ill be tired tonight , i dont want to take my ambien..

just lay down with your head down and eyes closed and you will just fall asleep with out knowing..it works coz that is what i did when i coudent sleep.
ok man…. im 20 years old and im freaking out because this sleeping thing is getting to me again i am alwayz staying the night at my girl friends and stuff and i sleep really well because im so comfortable with her but one of my boys i stay with all the time stayed the night last night because my girl was out of town and i just couldnt sleep i tryed so hard that i just couldnt…. and now im scared to lay down right now because im scared its going to happen again and then ill be over the edge tired tomorrow what do i do
music. lol: i am posting this at 5 am because i cant sleep. just anything that to you really good so you can focus. just mouth the lyrics (it wont keep you awake). when it works, my mind kind of goes into hypnosis where i dont even think about the song, but just follow the track. idk. im a straight A (not boasting) high school teen so i got alot running thru my mind that whole type A analytical paranoia thing. lemme know if it helps.
ps. playlists! pattern of songs you are used to really helps with the “trance(lawl)” aspect. good luck

You can’t sleep because when you are thinking you use beta brainwaves which is what prevents your from sleeping.
To sleep you use alpha, theta and delta brainwaves but not beta.

This is what my mom says to do. Just close your eyes, and think of happy memories or a nice dream. It ALWAYS works for me. Even I am tired now.
Just think of a happy place where everyone is nice and quiet. You can also just think of a really happy memory.
I was once told think of something that makes you happy. I remember playing DonkeyKong64 back with about 6 of my cousins and having a blast and I also remember this time I was out with friends eating ice cream. Both early childhood memories, I’m still only 16 but I always think of those things. Also if your mind is on important things try to think or something and see how your thought process works and where it takes you, then try and mimick the thought process. That helps diverge your thoughts and helps you sleep… Crazy but it works for me.
Yes, thinking happy memories works for some people and I’m glad it works for many of you. @fullham, most memories that will have a major impact on your life are completed before the age of 10. ;)
For many though happy memories alone don’t work, in which case going to the source of the issue which are your brainwaves will provide the solution to you are seeking.

i am realy depressed and havent had a good nights sleep in a year i think i sleep so light i feel like i am not sleeping at all most of the night between 10 and4 i am awake anyway i am sure if i could sleep my depression would improve but it never does i am realy desparate anyone else like this
@ Keith ~ I am exactly like that but when I ask my doc for help they never seem to address it! I am sooo tired. During the day I can hardly keep my eyes open. I think in ready to go home and pass right out but it never happens ~ I watch my husband sleep soundly. I get up and clean, I lay in bed just awake and I can’t tale it anymore!

well what i do is i think of a boy in school i like or your boyfriend or whatever then i make a dream out of it and i sleep all night
normally sitting on your comp or laptop untill ur eyes r stining is good for me then lay in bed for a short while i always seem to dose off just try not to think about sleep though that doesn’t help at all x

Try hypnosis audios for sleeping! They really work out. I used to suffer from not getting any sleep bcz of my none stopable thinking head. And when i have the ability to sleep, thoughts turn into nightmares with allot of night shocks! So…
I take medicine melathonin but it doent work it makes me worse untill now 2am i couldint sleep **** i dont know what to do….
wake up really early so you are knackered by the time you have to sleep.
.I can’t sleep either, it’s something called DSPS (defective sleeping phase syndrome) its when you aren’t able to sleep and feel fully awake at night I really hate it, but everyone has dsps atleast once in their life, so far I had it many as possibly times as 30-35times, so its so annoying aswell.
