Love help: I have an extreme loss of appetite. - Help.com

I have an extreme loss of appetite.

I absolutely love to eat and do it a lot, but I work out and stay in shape too.
I just came back from Florida a week ago and the past 5ish days my appetite has completely depleted. I went from eating an entire bag of popcorn, to having to force myself to eat. It feels awful. I literally had to slowly eat just a granola bar for dinner b/c it was making me queezy-but I know I needed to eat.
What is wrong with me?
As a side note, I got pretty burnt in FL the first day and believe I had sun poisining (as I had rashes but they are going away-no sickness though, just rashses). I am not sure if this could be linked to my appetite depletion.
Thank you!!

Yes. I just have no appetite but grow weaker so I force myself to eat something.
I’ve lost almost 5 pounds over the past 5 days.
I don’t feel right physically. Mentally I’m sure, but get light-headed, but I figured that was from lack of energy from lack of food.

I’m not a doctor, but I believe loss of appetite is normal for what you are describing, but 5 days seems a bit too long. Ask a doctor.

Keep hydrated, plenty of water, and maybe multi-vitamins to give your body some nutrients that it needs. If you need energy when you force yourself to eat, soy protein is probably a good source.

Lastly, what else happened in Florida aside from too much sun? What were you doing? Who did you visit? What did you do?

You say you believe a loss of appetite is normal for what I’m describing…but what is it? I’m trying to figure out why I’m feeling like this b/c it’s not a good or normal feeling.
:/

I wonder if your body is simply re-adjusting to home life? Vacations can often be more taxing than simply going to work. Think of it as jet lag for your soul, if you will. Wait until you have had ample time to resume your normal routine and if you are still feeling a bit under-the-weather, consider consulting your physician.
