Getting A Tattoo

So i was thinking of getting a tattoo for my 17th birthday…wich isn’t until next year so i have alot of time to thing about this
But I’m worried about the pain, and where i should get it. As someone who is not fond of needles, i would really appreciate it if someone could tell me where it hurts most to get it done
P.S., i was thinking of getting Roman numerals of my b-day as the tattoo. Because i know i wouldn’t regret that
just trying to find a place to put it

If you’re not sure don’t do it. You don’t want to end up regretting it later.

I wouldn’t get Roman numerals as a tattoo, 17 is not really a benchmark age.

Lets see, i’ve heard it stings alot afterwards, which is why they usually give you stuff to put on it.
Shouldn’t be too bad as long as you can take pain :)

It does not hurt a whole lot, unless you have it done on your sides or neck or any sensitive area. it is more annoying than painfull

I have 10 , the ones on my chest hurt the most, they’re all of someone I love , Mom Dad,brother, sister , don’t get something whith no meaning usually they come back to haunt you when you get older .When they represent a loved one or something important to you, you tend not to be sorry you got them.

Some people i know who have gotten tattoos tell me different things,
like “It didn’t hurt at all”
and some say “I could barely take the pain”
Where as my mom who had one done on her lower back said she couldn’t even take the pain, they never finished her tattoo; It was supposed to be filled in with Black but she left it white. It looks fine but she said she couldn’t sit there and have it finished it hurt so bad
But i just think my mom is a wuss.
As this is my first tattoo, its not going to be HUGE, and some ugly place like on my *** or neck or above the shoulders
i was thinking my Back, My arm or maybe even my stomach
And i thought Roman numerals would look good, and it has meaning to me because my parents had a had a boy before me, and he died of heart failure four days after he was born, which prompted my parents to have another kid (me) because they wanted to have a family of 4. If my brother would have survived, i wouldn’t be here today. Kind of a scary thought. But having my birthday tattooed on me is something special, and i love the roman culture and i thought it would be really cool to have it tattooed in roman numerals, i thought it would look really good

i was thinking somewhere where it could be seen, but i could cover it up if i wanted
the foot would be really cool, but the way my birthday works out in roman numerals it comes out to be pretty large
So unless i wanted the tattoo squished in my foot, i’ have to get it done someplace where theres more room

The only thing with the lower back is the whole “Tramp stamp” factor. I dont want it to look trashy

sorry.. i have not read all the replies.. however this is how it felt to me..

as with getting a tattoo.. there are i believe 3 needles that do the outline.. and 7 that do the coloring.. so as they are “drawing” on you.. to me.. it felt like i was being cut a little.. you dont feel the pricks of the needles.. but what you get in the end is worth all the pain.. good luck..

i guess the getting old factor comes in
i dont want it being all saggy by the time i am 50
cause im probably not going to have it removed
so the shoulders or the lower back would be a good place to have it

Well the truth of the matter is that your skin is going to be saggy and ugly ANYWAY, so what’s the big deal if it’s got a picture on it too?
I’ve heard its not that painful to get the tattoo, but it itches like a beast afterwards.
