I take anti depressants for anxiety and depression (Ciprimil), and it works wonders for me, but I tried a lot of different medications before i found that this one actually worked for me. Unfortunately, medication that works for one may not work for another. Its just trial and error. And can be quite frustrating, as some of the medications can make you feel ill

How does it work for you though.. Does it just make you happy, or does it eliminate your anxious and depressed thoughts all together.. How did these other medications not work for you? I mean do these medications just change your thoughts? I’m way confused..

Ok, well, its not like speed or drugs like that, it doesnt all of a sudden make you all happy and smiley. Its more of a calmness feeling. So instead of feeling that real low depressed state that you just cant get yourself out of, it lifts those feelings back to a normal level. But.. you still experience normal sadness like everyone else, such as if you had a death in the family, then you would still experience the same grief and sadness like the rest of your family. So it basically normalises emotions i guess you could say. One of the other medications i tried were Aropax, which are very much like Zoloft. They are very harsh and very addictive. It took me 3 mnths of terrible withdrawal to get off them, therefore i would recommend them unless you were bi polar or something really severe

yea.. well, I guess I’ll just have to wait to see a psychiatrist. I’m concerned that these anxious thoughts won’t go away with medication. Just because these thoughts are my thoughts, and no medication is going to change my thoughts. But I don’t know.. Thanks for your relplies.

They should go away, its the anxiety that drives your mind to have a negative thought process. The anti depressants will calm the anxious feelings, then you will find your mind at ease. Once the seritonin levels in your brain have risen, you will completely different. More at peace, i guess you could say. Good luck.

I also take medication for depression. The med that I am on now(Effexor)calms my mind(like Mezz said about meds). You really have to find the right medication for you. It can take awhile but don’t get discouraged.Therapy is very important for help. You can look for something outside of what your psychiatrist is giving you. I am trying to get my life back on track. Therapy has been very helpful. I’m currently getting cognitive behavioral therapy.
