Everytime there’s good news, something bad happens too.

Last night I got a phone call from a children’s wear store asking me to come in this morning for a job interview. It is a supervisor’s position, full time with decent pay and I believe some benefits. The interview went very well.

This morning, my mom called to say that my cousin was killed last night. He had a breakdown because he was separated from his wife which led to her calling the police on him. When they arrived, he was shooting his gun into the air and they ended up having to shoot him down. Things like this do not happen in my family.
I didn’t even know my cousin (he’s a lot older than me), but I know his parents, especially his dad and I can’t even imagine what they’re going through. Plus, I think my cousin had a couple of kids, I have no idea how old they are, but that’s no way to lose a father, son, or anyone else you love.

This seems to be the trend of things, recently. That exact sentence ‘Everytime there’s good news, something bad happens too.’ was told to me by my friend just the other day with an equally bad thing that happened to her.

It is a shame, but the best thing you can possibly do is remember that at least you have the good stuff too. A lot of the time, you just end up with the bad…

For every up there is a down. But down think of it that way. Think of it as for every down there is an up.
