Family help: Earth Hour is today! - Help.com

Earth Hour is today!

I hope you’re getting ready to turn off your lights.
Also, when the hour is over, don’t turn on your lights RIGHT away because that may screw things up, as that is what everyone is doing.

I’m not from Earth Hour or anything, just a normal user who loves Earth Hour… :)

What’re your plans for the darkness?

Thank god for LazyDaze! She’s all over the place!

So does anyone have any ideas what they will be doing in the darkness for an hour? Any original ideas?

LoL, I will take that as a compliment :D

Darkness for an hour doesn’t have to be that bad, get some candles make sure they are placed out of the reach of young chidren, where they can be knocked over and also where anything flammable can get to them, once you have that sorted then dig out the old boared games and puzzles :D
Make some snacks like small sandwhiches and/or dips…
And play away for an hour, you will find that you will forget the time and probably doing an Earth few hours :)

I have a fireplace. That’s a good thing. I like to write in my diary, get my thoughts on paper. Think I’ll be doing that to a candle light. Sounds nice to me!
Oh! Now I just can’t wait for the sun to go down!!

It’s a Saturday night, I’m not sure this was planned properly. Is it just the lights we turn off, or does everything electrical have to be off? Otherwise I’ll be bored silly.

I think the aim was to have everything off but no one will come round to tell you off if you don’t lol, it is just so that everyone can do their bit.

My dad said he was planning on running the dishwasher and washing machine during Earth Hour- it’s more environmentally friendly (no one else will be doing it) XP

You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to!
