Does ProActiv work?

I watch MTV a lot, and during EVERY commercial breaks, there’s at least one commercial about ProActiv. I’m starting to wonder if it really works…

it says it will “help” heal acne… so depends what you mean by “does it work?”

if you’re looking for a cure, i doubt it’s a miracle cure. if you have bad acne, you ought to be seeing a dermatologist… if you see one you can ask them about Proactive.

It works, but only if you use it in conjunction with having a good diet. They even tell you that on the box.

I think if you have severe acne, you should try it.

it’s not severe at all, its just lik at some places on my face, and not all compact and severe, its only a bit, but it’s still bothering me. in the commercials, this guy says that the next day, it was gone. have you guys tried it? does it clean out your face from all zits and break outs in a day/night?

No it doesn’t. It only helps if you use it for at least a month. I think he was talking about that spot treatment mask. That does help overnight, but not to the extent he said.

When I was in high school I had severe acne. I’m grateful I don’t have that problem anymore. Since yours is not severe, and it sounds like you have combination skin, I would recommend using gentle cleansers, like Neutragena bar soap or regular facial soap, and following up with a small amount of moisturizer on the parts of your skin which are dry.

Remember to take your vitamins too! :)

thank youuu!!!! ur the best!
i actually use EDDF. it works pretty well except it makes my skin rrrreeaaallly dry.
it’s lik a sulfur therapeutic mask, and there’s also a foaming cleanser. theres another one thats benzoil peroxide with tea tree oil. lol they all came from the same box. and theres also a daily matte. idk wat it is… lol the best thing is the sulfur mask that i use during the night, but in the morning, my sking is really dry.

it only works for like 3-4 weeks. then it stops working. if you don’t have bad acne try aveeno clear complexion cream cleanser. they have it at walmart. it has stuff to treat acne but also conditions your skin so you won’t dry out. i just started using it, but i really like it. it has exfoliator beads too, which gets rid of dry skin which can clog pores and cause breakouts. hope this helps!

I have been using Proactive for a year and it has been absolutely fabulous. It has woked very well and it cleared my acne in 3 months. The trick is to wash your face with Noxzema Microbead Cleanser ( dont use this cleanser is you have sensitive skin because it will sting sensitive skin). Then spread the Renewing Cleanser all over your face and leave it on for 30 seconds. Then you need to wash your face off with WARM water, NOT STEAMING HOT OR FREEZING COLD, and then when your skin is dryed off spread the Revitalizing Toner all over your face and leave it on until it is completely dry. Lastly you need to lather your face evenly with the Repairing Lotion. DO NOT DRY OR RUB YOUR FACE UNTIL THE LOTION HAS COMPLETLY SEEPED INTO YOUR SKIN. Now for the trick. it might sound crazy but rub Colgate Total Toothpaste onto your problem areas and leave it there for 1 hour( if you have dry skin or sensitive skin only leave it on for 15 minutes because excessive drying may occur. Wash it off when time is up and dry with a clean rag by patting it dry. Dont scrub off the water. You should only do the toothpaste thing 2 or 3 days a week depending on the severity of the acne. THIS IS THE BEST ADVICE PIECE I HAVE WRITTEN SO FAR SO LISTEN TO ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU!!! :):):):)

It works great for me. My acne was pretty bad in high school–and it isn’t nearly as bad now–but I still need to use something to keep it at bay. My skin is very clear. Not perfect, but I’m happy with it.

And I was even using dermatologist-prescribed lotions and creams before. Proactiv, for me, works better. It definitely doesn’t dry me out as much as the doctor-prescribed stuff I was using before. Everyone’s chemistry is different though.

I was getting fed up with having to call in to the dermatologist every few months to get my prescription renewed/refilled, and was looking for something I didn’t need a prescription for. So I decided to try Proactiv, and it has worked great!

(I’m also an avid runner, take my daily vitamin, and eat fairly well, so this may help my case as well.)

Judjing by how many NO’s there were to trying this…I opted to try Avon’s version which they DO compare to Proactiv….it’s only 29.99, three steps as well, non-drying, (I moisturize though) and not smelly. My skin is looking great (only had mild case around chin) and it also does not contain the harsher ingredients that can harm your skin. Try it, it’s amazing! It’s called Clearskin Professional 3-Step System.
