hmm…It’s difficult not to judge someone by how they look, because that is the first thing you notice about someone. I personally don’t judge people by their weight, or any disabilities.

i would say i judge people based on how they present themselves. For example the difference between punk, business men, average joe, biker guy, gangsta etc. Also hyigene plays a huge role if you smell or look dirty its hard to make friends. I dont really notice when people are fat and i dont think less of people who are.

Yeah, it seems kinda pointless to me to go up to the ugliest girl and fish for her attention. What if she turns out to be a *b-word*? Then I’m left with 0 out of 2. If she’s good looking and turns out to be a *b-word*, then I at least get 1 out of 2, which I’m perfectly ok with until the next one comes along.

lol. ok.

I actually do judge people a lot. I try not to but…
I don’t like people who dress really boring and don’t ever try to stand out with their fashion

I don’t like people who are at the wrong weight…everyone looks best at a certain weight might be small might be a little bigger

I don’t like people with bad skin…real turn off.

and i’d rather be friends with someone who looked like they were happy and have fun

I dont care is a person is of -average/slightly above/slightly below- weight. I odnt care if you have a pimple here or there (in the teen yrs ONLY. It hppens to everyone, no need to judge) But I hate when people dont look after themselves and then complain about it! I love nice smiles. I think piercings and tattoos depend entirely on how it suits the person, so really I can go either way. And I like people who put effort into their style. But I hate when guys where chains (like key chains) on their jeans, or connected to their wallets. Theyre soo annoying!

I think were all kidding ourselves.we need to admit that looks play a huge part
in how we judge someone. We know we shouldn’t use this as a criteria but we do.
It has been programmed into our brains from long ago. We can’t get rid of it.
After we get to know someone then their looks become less and less important.

I do find though that as I get older that looks count for less and less. Probably b/c I cared about looks before and ended up with some really bad results. So looks are lower(to a point), than personality, in my books.

you said in post:
TO WHAT EXTREME DO YOU JUDGE PEOPLE BY THEIR LOOKS?

One extreme I think we use ,is we sometimes look at someone and think they are
a something or other and then draw a conclusion from that.
For example: someone may look like a stalker to us. So we immediately become fearful.
But the stalker may be just overly friendly or doesn’t know how to socially approach
someone. So our judgments can very often destroy a good relationship at the beginning
for no reason.

I think looks are important. The way you look represents who you are. At least to a certain extent. Skin color, eye color, weather or not you have freckles, obviously cant be controlled by you. But the way you dress tells other people a teeny piece of what youre like. Like weather you dress preppy, or punk, or emo.. then you attract people that would probably have similar interests. But I think b/c people have less to do, and are becoming increasingly lazy, we just gossip and judge other people to such a degree that nobody is actually perfect anymore. Well, that was my little rant on the subject. =]

I will go even further. I believe that the media is responsible for damaging
peoples view of one another when it comes to things like stalkers. They reinforce
in us that we are to be fearful of almost anybody who looks out of the ordinary.

one really need to have some knowlegde of physiognomy to know how each appearance has a different meaning
