I have a few credit card accounts that I don’t use.

Should I close them, or should i leave them alone even though I never use them? would closing an account make your credit score go down or up? Thanks!

I believe sometimes it’s better to keep them as part of your credit history… it looks better if you’ve maintained credit cards for some time. Of course, if you don’t USE them, there’s no history… and eventually some of them start charging you an INACTIVITY fee!! (They’ll get you one way or another!) If you can, I’d recommend using them a little and then paying it right off so you avoid any finance charge whatsoever…. doing so will improve your credit rating once they see you are paying bills on time. Do not be late paying the bill though… they get you big time for a late payment too, will raise your rates and lower your credit score for that!
