I entered a poetry contest and I didn’t expect to go anywhere. Now I a finalist, “I am delighted to inform you that your poem “Nonsense” has been awarded our prestigious Editor’s Choice Award because it displays an original perspective and unique creativity — judged to be the qualities found most in exceptional poetry. Congratulations on your achievement!”

One question: Did you have to pay any money to get your poem put up on the Internet for voting? Or will you have to at some point?

Disregard my last post. I checked out the site myself and it seems pretty legit.

Nevertheless, I would like to warn you to be careful. A lot of these poetry sites and contests are nothing more than elaborate schemes with absolutely no literary merit. It happens quite often.
