War can be so cruel and unfair, the heart wants what it wants and that’s unfair.

Well the heart wants what you tell it. War is just wrong and cruel.

the meaning of that statement is indeed that anything goes in love and war. “all’s fair in” means that it doesn’t matter what is done, it’s fair.

and i think it is not true.

well.. i believe this statement to be false. war is not fair because so many innocent are killed each and every day.. as for love… no.. because when one cheats.. it is not fair to the other person who is very much faithful.. so i say false to both..

I think it’s false… to begin with, just “all is fair” is not right… not everything can be fair under any circumstances. Not for the sake of love, nor war. Geez this is hard to explain… maybe I’m too tired. But I disagree with that quote!! :)

The other way to think of it perhaps (sorry total Libra, balancing) is war is so desperate, atrocities committed for the end result, nothing matters, anything goes, nothing matters but winning. Love too can bring you to your knees, make you sing and cry and want so badly, that some are willing to do things and change things and even do things you wouldn’t normally do in order to have it. Still not fair because your emotionally screwed up. I wish I could say it the way it is in my head. Does it make sense still?

Love and war are rule-less. Anything goes!

Can anything really be “fair” in the first place anymore?

I don’t think anything can be fair in the concept of war and love because these two topics have been argued over the centuries. People die in war, and sometimes in love too. Love doesn’t always turn out the way you want it to in situations so i would say neither of these are fair because of they different ways they can be discussed in society.

I don’t think “fairness” is what the quote is about. From my perspective it means that neither love or war are governed by rules or conventions when you are immersed in it. The heart wants what it wants, be it on the battlefield or in the bedroom….

Its False.

The statement is used to justify the stupid things done in the name of it. Like killing, stalking, torture.

false, because what we want in love isn’t always right. I have fallen in love with a married man before. just because he was in an unhappy marriage it didn’t give me the right to ruin the chance for his wife and him to fix things. which they did fix things.
War, look at the whole blood diamon thing. all those inocent people had their arms cut off and some women who were breat feeding had their breast cut off. Many war crimes are commented during every war. And the Geniva Covention calls these things war crimes.

I think its true when you are in the thick of it (be it love or war) and false when you have some rational distance from it.

Talk about a fence sitting answer….

No, the quote is absolutely throwing “fairness” out the window, and saying that anything goes when it comes to either love or war…. I disagree!! Fairness should never be tossed aside… nor morals.

Yeah, I don’t disagree. But guess how much consideration you will give to “fairness” in the middle of a fire fight…
