Does anyone know what deterministic mechanism means.

i am writting a paper of Karl MArx’s theory behind history but i am stuck because i cannot find a definition for this concept. thanks any help would be appreaciated

As I understand it, in Marxist terms, this is referring to a mechanism that “determines” the course of history. In the case of Marx, this mechanism would be economics. Marx believed that religious life, family structure, governmental structure, etc. were all “determined” by the economic realities of that particular time. An example of an economic structure would be fuedualism. You might think about how a feudal system might lead to a certain series of historical events. If you’re looking for more information, you might want to read up on Dialectical Materialsim, which I think is vital to understanding Marx’s veiw of history. I hope this helps.

That’s right. It is very much based on Hegel’s dialectic. Actually, I wrote it from personal knowledge, but this Wikipedia article sums it up well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic…. You might want to find a more official source, though.

your absolutly right. ill probably just use it as a reference.
alot of the articles i picked up on Jstore are a little dense for my liking, filled with to much jargon it almost looses its meaning. but yeah once again thanks for the guidence this helps alot. your awesome!
