This isn’t an emergency, but could someone please help me answer this?

I was just talking to a friend, and he doesn’t know if having a pet bat is legal in the UK. I think it’s legal only if you have a license, but I’m not sure. I know it’s illegal to interfere with them. Could anyone help me out?

Is it wild? I know you’re not allowed to tame wild animals and keep them as pets. Or maybe that’s just squirrels. Um.

Bats are a world-wide protected spices.
And without researching, I’d take a wild guess of illegal to confine them as pets, as special authorities take care of them mostly.
