Is a boyfiend worth all the struggle?

I have been with my boyfriend almost 4 years now and we have a long distance relationship during term time. I study architecture which is a very tough course, leaving me with almost no free time. And due to his job we seem to be living in completely different time zones, he’s busy when I’m free and vice verca. We seem to be living completely seperate lives. It puts a lot of strain on our relationship as we can go as long as 3 or 4 weeks without seeing each other at bad times and once a week at good times. Sometimes I don’t want to see him as I know how hard it can be to get back to normal together but when it does get back its totally worth it and is lovely. But I’m completely torn as to whether all the stress and the struggle to get there is too much but then again I couldn’t bear to end it. I’m stuck.
