How do i get my mom to realize she is killing herself?

she wont quit drinking and taking drugs. i really miss her when she was sober. she falls and busts her head open and gets in fights and she od’d on morphine once. she’ll do anything to get high. i dont know what to do?

I’m not sure there is anything you can do. This is increadibly heartbreaking of course, but your mom has to hit a bottom where she finally realizes that she can’t go onliving as an addict. All you can do in the meantime is not do anything to enable her to get by.

Was your mother an addict while you were a kid?

she was when i was little til bout twelve. then when i turned 18 she moved from her husband and started again

Have you ever done any counseling for yourself about this? Kids with addicted parents sometimes grow up with some issues. You might not be able to help your mother. But maybe you can deal with your own related issues if you have any. Anything in this article seem familiar to your own situation?
