me and my boyfriend started going out 5-6 months ago.
we didn’t know each other and got set up by my best friend. we got really close and due to my religion we cant touch. so our relationship was based on bonding with our minds. b/c of this we got really close really fast…until last week…we suddenly felt like we stopped liking each other..
so we decided maybe we should end things… well with in our 4-5 hr conversation about ti all the feelings for each other came back and then we didn’t know what to do…we broke up at least 4 different times in one night for 7 different reasons.
we have decided to end things as we need time to relax and breath from each other and we wont talk for a week. last night out of confusion and depression of not knowing what i was feeling i drank my self to the point were my friends were discussing if i should go to the hospital or not.
this got back to him and he assumed i had decided to end things with out telling him…i told him we are on a brake and its not over…
i dont know what i am feeling…please help
how do i know if i still like him?
do i want us to go out?
what do i do with my self?
If you were so sad That you had to drink that much to get him away, you are in love. I am sure that after you tell him how you feel he will understand that you love him and you two will become even closer.
Every breakup is hard, and just cause you’re upset hardcore doesn’t mean you’re still in love, and it doesn’t mean your not either. There will always be those memories that bring a tear to your eye, regardless of whether breaking up is the right thing to do. If you do decide to part ways, you’ll just have to eventually replace the memories with new ones. It will take a while. One question I have is, if you religion means you cannot be physical, then wouldn’t it have some requirements about abusing yourself with alcohol? Just some food for thought.
The best way to see if you need him is to have some time away, and see how things go. Try just being friends. If its meant to be, then it will just move in that direction again…

what religion allows you to drink yourself to illness but not touch your lover
it has requirements about abusing alcohol its called causing your self damage… and also inappropriate behavior, and i screwed up royally and am now paying for it.
thanks for both ur great advise
no ones perfect but you have to try hard to be…some part of a reigon are easyer to follow then others and you take on what you can do and have something else to work on if you take on too much you will crash and burn.
I’m not sure what religion you follow, but its most (if not all) religions are influenced too much by people. Religious leaders are just humans, and you should listen to God himself (or read the bible/quran/other holy book) rather than just take it from the mouth of a religious leader. No offense intended of course. You may find that there is a lot in there you don’t know, especially when if comes to rules and such…
Thats all you need to know. The rest you can work out.

religion causes more problems than it solves.
Trust in yourself and in god, would god think it so bad that you kissed and hugged the man you love?
If your religion wasnt so tied up in your relationship do you think things would be easier for you both.
Can you talk to your preist or whomever about it?
You know right from wrong but love is never wrong
seggle is right, do whats feels right, not what your told right is. just think for yourself and trust your feelings. relationships are tricky, especially at the start, but if your sure he is the one for you, then let nothing stand in between you two, love can prevail over all other things, and in many religious contexts, god IS love. just food for thought.

lost in life wrote: g-d doesn’t think kissing and hugging the man you love is wrong in fact he encourages it. in a proper setting of marriage.
in a proper setting of marriage? antiquated…
will god punish me for kissing and hugging my partner because we are not married?
I live a good honest life filled with love and compassion and god will not judge me wrong

if youre willing to drink urself to a pt that u would have to go to the hospital, maybe u shud put the “not touching ur bf” thing aside too and just touch him (at least. doing mroe would be good for your sanity), at least to see if the chemistry is still there.
