I dont know what i want to do with my life.

i am at school, but i really really hate it. i am in VCE and VCE is bassically for people who know what they want to do when they finish school and want to go onto Univercity and study further.

I dont know what i want to do… to me i feel like going to school is pointless, i dont like any of my classes. i want to quit school and get a job.

my mum tells me i have to finish school and stuff… she is really old fashioned also… she wont help me with anything… i have to learn everything on my own. I havent got my ‘L’s for my car and i dont have a job because i need a birth certificate and my mum wont help me get one.

she also never gives me money. she tells me to get a job if i want money. BUT I CANT WITHOUT A BIRTH CERTIFICATE!

and i dont want a job while i am at school because we get TONS of homework. and some of my freinds have part time jobs and struggle alot. they are failing.

i am really confused at the moment. School is so hard… and i dont know what i want to do with my life when scholl is over with.

Try independent study or homeschooling - I had a similar problem to yours, and that helped me a lot. :)

i dont recomend walking around in circles for hours, I would say though to get some alone time, put all this school and job and money stuff out of your mind, and ask yourself, what do you want to do? Close your mind to everything and really find out what you want. Could be anything from going to space or playing with animals all day, but just find out what you want to do, and everything else will fall into place

Sounds like good advice kyleshwhen.
I agree with you, its a bad idea to get a part-time job in school cuz you get so much work! But maybe you should just stick it out (how much longer do you have to go?) so at least you’re done that. As to the birth certificate, if you just need your mom to fill out some forms, maybe you could get all the other paperwork and everything ready to go, then sit down with your mom and tell her: “look, I’m being responsable, I’m thinking ahead, I’ve done all this myself, and now I’m asking you to fill this out because I cannot do it myself.” Hopefully she’ll respect that?
Don’t think though that you have to have it all planned out now. I don’t either :). But ESPECIALLY if you don’t know what you want to do, I think you should finish school, so you can keep all your options open. Then maybe take a year off and travel/w/e, and try to figure out what you want to do?

Believe me, I know how you feel. I am a “non-traditional” student and I have a child. I was laid off from my job last year and still cannot find a job.

I decided to go back to college because every GREAT job wants a college degree. I hate going to classes, I hate the homework and the professors. But, I know I am where I need to be. I have already tried working for almost 20 years without a degree and honestly, I did not get too far.

Stay in college, it is the right place to be, you must complete it. I hate it as much as you do, but I have tried working full time and if you want a great job, you need a college degree.

I am still trying to make a final decision on my career path, but I have spoken to many different people and people that are currently in the fields in which I want to go into… Keep searching, you’ll find what you are looking for.

Well the question is what do you like to do? What interest you? You should do something you like, because if not you will not like your job. And your mom needs to realize that she needs to help you before you can get a job, its not like you are asking for a million dollars.
