Filling out a job application, and I have a seemingly stupid question to ask.

Sorry to sound so uninformed here, guys, but can you please clarify to me what I can list under “Other Job Related Training” in this application I am filling out? I have had extensive administrative experience with one company for 5 years (hence the lack of ‘not knowing what to put in’), and am inclined to list my proficiency in computer programs, typing accuracy, etc, but would like some input before I do so =). Oh, the application is for an administrative position with a police department.

Thanks in advance for your advice! =)

Your inclinations seem correct. I would likely list those as well as specific achievements and skills you have acquired throughout your years in an office environment…? :)

To me when I employ someone, Other Job Related Training is in references to any structured courses you followed while you were working to gain job-related skills. Some companies will provide training for particular software they are introducing, others will send their employees on safety training courses, etc. Hope this is useful to you.

Other non-specific training or certificates, gun safety certificate, notary public, MCSE Cert, etc…
