Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
I was going to say Jim Morrison… ’cause I think it would be fun!! :D
But really, I’d love to have another day with my mother… just so many things that were left unsaid I guess. We were just starting to become real “friends” when she became sick and passed away…
I’m sorry to both you and anon
Thank you… it’s really a fun thought, to imagine having a day with someone who’s gone or even someone you never would have had a chance to meet!! :)
That is what I thought
I would spend a day with the grandfather I never got to meet. I always hear wonderful stories about him but I never got to meet him.

What? Im strange b/c of Bob Marley?? Hes my inspiration.. some day Ill have a daughter and Im going to name her Marley. lol
Johnny depp :p
Actually, can we have fictional characters?
yes, you can
Bob marley smoked a lot. If you know what I mean.
lol
One person I would not want to meet would be Sweeney Todd. That would be scary.
Right…I’d be Nietzsche and claim that “God is dead”

=O Me too!! Thats one of my favorite movies! Although I think Id really really wanna meet Jack Sparrow!!
Akhale51 wrote:

I know what you mean, but hes still awesome!!
i love edward scissorhands he is just so sweet and lovely!
in fact, i love all tim burton movies..especially with johnny depp as the lead which, lets face it, is most of them :)
i woudlnt mind meeting ichabod crane
lol. If were doing fiction then I would want to meet my counselor when she’s my girlfriend. j/k

You sound so much like me! I love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp (plus characters). In fact, I wanna meet Tim Burton too and Helena Bonham Carter.
helena bonham carter is brilliant! if i could BE anyone i would love to be her!
Tim Burton is awesome!
Although, I dont think Id want to meet Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd.
lol
Yea, like I said tha would be kind of scary and risky
kemmy wrote:

oooh i dunno….. :) i wouldnt mind
lol and I thought kemmy was strange!
:D do i win the strangeness competition?
what’s my prize?
can it be a day with johnny depp?
Well, madam we’ll see what we can arrange.
hahahaha
Sorry, kemmy you lost your title as soon asshe wanted to meet sweeney todd and got excited about being turned into a pie.
*as she
JACKPOT
who wouldnt want to be turned into a pie by johnny depp?
My father. He died in 1979. I have been rereading his diaries from 1945 until his death, and I have developed such amazing admiration for him. I really didn’t fully comprehend at the time what an outstanding Pop he was.
Or my mother. She died in 1984. She had a fascinating past, but told us to little about it. There are so many questions I would like to ask her now, so many details I would like to understand.
uhh, me. I wouldn’t want t be turned into a pie by johnny depp.
maybe the person id want to meet is….
you, kemmy!
-be afraid-
I don’t get this thing young girls have for Johnny Depp. He appears so creepy and effeminate. Am I the only one who feels this way?
I don’t think he is creepy but I don’t understand why girls are turne on by him either
i went off him for a while but then i watched edward scissorhands
he is so lovely
and not to mention an amazing actor:)
Why would I be afraid?? Thatd be awesome!!
And I believe so theresape. Hes not creepy, and I am not a little girl. Also.. I am not turned on by him. I do not want to marry him or have a silly crush on him. Hes just an awesom person.
well said, kemmy
i would marry him :|
lol jokes. im not a little girl either, i just think he’s totally amazing.
and you should be afraid. very afraid. mwahaha
I would marry a hockey player I know.
=]
Sorry Erica. Im not. I think itd be awesome and fun. You should be afraid to meet me. Apparently, im crazy in the most awesome way!
Hahaha, we all know that Alice!
I don’t really know much about him as a person, Kemmy. What makes him awesome?
lol. The words just fell out of my mouth onto the computer screen.
XD
i’ve been told many a time i’m insane/crazy…..mostly by my friends who have no room to talk!
johnny depp is an incredible actor btw thereaspe, if thats what youre talkign about….have you seen many of his films?
:)
Yup, hes an amazing actor. And his life is pretty interesting too. He actually hates being known as a “pretty boy” and always turns down those roles. I mostly like him b/c hes a little strange, as people assume, and Im pretty strange myself.
No–I’ve only seen Edward Scissorshands and Chocolat; the latter impressed me more than the former. The trailers for Pirates of the Caribbean left me cold. What other Johnny Depp films would you recommend I watch?
Sweeney Todd
Oh, sure, I should see Sweeney Todd. Saw it on Broadway with the original cast–I imagine that would be very different!
Are you being sarcastic?
Pirates of the carribean is good fun, if not a great movie in itself. you have to be in the right mood.
i recommend sleepy hollow, i find ichabod crane adorable. it’s very weird and not scary as a horror film, but i love the characters and tim burton’s imagination in the setting and the little moments of humour…
i suppose you have to be able to appreciate weird quirky things like tim burton to enjoy it though
Corpse Bride
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Finding Neverland (I think youll love this one. Maybe. It always makes my sister cry)
Sleepy Hollow (awesome)
Whats Eating Gilbert Grape (awesome)
You really do have to be able to appriciate Tim Burtons sense of things to understand his movies.
Charlie and the chocolate factory was great!
OH charlie and the chocolate factory was amazing!
and hilarious in it’s own childish way :D
how about the nightmare before christmas?
The Nightmare before Christmas is a classic and if you dont love it, theres something wrong with you! But… Johnny Depp wasnt it in.
he was! he was the voice of the main character…the skeleton guy….i forget his name…
I only saw the first Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and I was not a big fan of Gene Wilder in that. I’ll have to check out Johnny Depp in that.
I have to be in the right mood for Tim Burton, but sometimes I do enjoy watching his films with my young son, who’s a real movie buff.
Thanks for the recommendations, all.
apologises kemmy you’re right
it was chris sarandon
:(
Indeed. It was both! How weird for one character to be played by two people.
Any time theresape. I really hope yousee Finding Neverland. (Its a kids movie too)
i haven’t seen finding neverland…..i must go to find it :)
my favourite film however is spirited away…
theresape wrote:

what’s it about??
My favorite recent movie actor–and I apologize for getting so far away from the original topic of this post–is probably Tom Hanks, because he plays such an amazing range of roles. Doesn’t matter to him if they’re gay or straight, smart or stupid, winner or loser, romantic lead or dunderhead, outre weirdo or everyday guy. Now THAT’s secure. I used to say he couldn’t make a bad movie, but then I saw that disastrous thing about the bank robbery. Know the one I mean?
He’s not that great to look at, just really really average, but that may even be part of why he is such a versatile actor.
Does Depp do his own singing in Sweeney Todd (assuming that it’s a remake of the Sondheim musical)?
True. Hes an amazing actor too. But for the same reasons, I love Nicolas Cage.
Its a remake. And yes he does. Otherwise Tim Burton wouldnt have hired him (I was interviews. And same for Helena Bonham Carter, whom hes married to)
hmm finding neverland sounds good, and yeah, johnny depp sings in sweeney todd.
i might watch that, along with the other 1000000000 movies i need to watch
i don’t know why, but i find foreign (subtitled) movies far better than english ones. i know that’s a huge generalisation, but the foreign movies ive watched, including spirited away, pan’s labyrinth, battle royale and more recently, the orphanage (see it if you can, if you think about it afterwards you see it’s really deep and psychological, it works on so many diffeent levels and makes you think) are just brilliant and thought-provoking, not to mention emotional.
**** i just wrote a huge long comment and it disappeared
i meant to say that for some reason i find foreign movies so much more beautiful and moving than english ones (sorry thats a huge generalisation).
Of these i strongly recommend (for different reasons) battle royale, spirited away, pans labyrinth and, more recently, the orphanage (if you get the chance, definitely got ot see that, its amazing and makes you think afterwards - you realise it works on so many different levels, me and my friends were discussing it for hours afterwards).
i love movies too (most of them haha) ^^ and tv…..i need a life haha
anyone watch anime? (random question, sorry we’re very very off topic)
I dont watch tv much. Just movies. But I love cartoons. Especially movie cartoons.
haha!
speaking of cartoons, i miss fairly oddparents - that was the best kid’s show ever, and it doesn’t play on any of my channels any more
lol Anyway, I have to go. I have some errands and Ive probably missed the DMV already. =[
Robert E. Lee…He is my great x4 uncle and I think he was a great general!
theresape wrote:

No, I do too. I don’t understand the attraction either. But he does own all his roles. Pacino, Deniro, Nicholson, Hanks, (I loved him in the green mile) all have that quality. They are such good actors they live their characters.
I would want to meet Steve Irwin.

Peter Pan. Ish. Read it on IMDB.
Steve Irwin, would make me a nervous wreck. What high energy he had! I always felt out of breath watching him. He sure lived his life 100%.
He was a real friend to animals. He cared and wanted so badly to help many, and does still.
my great grandmas i loved them soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much and miss them a WHOLE LOT
I wouldn’t ind spending time with my all time favorite hockey player, Amber Nadreau.
lol.
For real people … I dont know who Id like to spend a day with. Maybe all my old friends who I havent seen in years and years. Hmm, well maybe not. Were all pretty different now. So I just dont know.
It doesn’t matter if they are someone you know or not
Then there is my frend, Annie who I haven’t seen in years. So this is even a hard question for me to answer.
lol I know, but I already answered for anyone! But then I thought about people I know, and no one really stood out to me.
That is sad.
i would choose my grandfather.. he never let anyone get away with anything… he was very loving and very comforting to me… and it was the only time i ever felt safe… in his arms… so i know that if he was here… my kids situation would not go unnoticed…
probably bruce lee.
or one of my two friends who both died like 2 years ago
(Alive Person) with ma sis who is now married.
(Dead Person) Our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H)
Jesus because He was the greatest human being who have ever walked on this earth.
I’d love to see either of my lovely grandmothers again, but since I can’t choose between them I’ll just say Johnny Depp.
my grandma, she died when i was 7 and she died 6 months before 9/11. 2001 was such a hard year for me.
I would have to say my uncle robert cuz he died this december really suddenly so it’d be neat to talk to him again!
Thats easy. Jesus. Yeah I know some of you might think that sounds corny. But from what I have heard of Him and what I believe Hes like, hes got to be the most wonderful person there is. And besides that, He holds the keys to life and death, so maybe He could arrange it so I could spend the day with some other ppl I love too.
The Maurauders
from Harry potter
I’d adore to spend a day with them just one day at hogwarts castle hanging around with them, Particulary sirius
Them or steve Sloan and the rest of the Diagnosis Murder gang

Cool thought!
John Muir. Then Jesus.
This one girl at my school.
Wow. Great question!
Either Hayley Williams, Gerard Way, or Casey Calvert.
:]
I’m liking aimzers choices up there ^ RIP Casey Calvert.
But for me it would have to be a tie between:
Ryan Ross
Brendon Urie
Ringo Starr
John Lennon
Chuck Palahniuk
Pete Wentz
Frankie Iero
Mostly Ryan Ross and Ringo, though. I’d love to meet them.
God cuz’ he is the 1 to inspire us 2 sing gospel/jazzy music!
lov, our band
gospal wispers
You meet him regardless. Through your music.

No problem
Wouldn’t really wanna spend the day with a dead person. It would be kinda creepy and they might start to smell bad!! hehehe
john lennon

george georshwin
alive:
cat stevens
:]
mii grand ma cuz she was the best womaan on earth to and she so fun
My aunt who passed recently. Because I love her and would give up everything to see her one more time.
Lee Harvey Oswald so I could ask him if he really killed Kennedy and put that story to rest once and for all
ooooh, very interesting. But do you really think he would tell the truth.
I’m sure he would tell the truth to someone who just brought him back to life.

huh?

In response to that
Neil Gaiman, for two reasons. He is not only my favourite author, but I have a feeling he would be incredibly fun and interesting to hang out with.
The man I spent less than a week with during my entire life, my father.
i would like to spend a day with my grampa that died a few weeks before i was born. i feel like i was a seprate part of the family since he died before i was born and almost everything that i hear about him is positive. i wonder what he would be like if it wasnt for his cancer and how long he would live.
pink, because i think we’d get along great. we have pretty similar personalities and she seems super fun.
it would be my freind raymond cuz hes the giuy i can talk to about anything and he wont care what i say or what i do and i care for him so deeply but he doesnt feel the same way
My gf, i dont see her very often so any extra day i could spend with her would be welcomed by me
i would spend it with my dad, who died without faith, and who always struggled to be an honest man.
i’m interested to know if he’s changed for the better.
