I’m looking for an artist and title of a painting/poster that I have a print of.

The print has been cut to fit a piece of wood and I can’t find a signature on it.

The painting appears to have been done in the 1970’s or 80’s. The main subject is an unclothed brunette woman facing forward and looking upward as she is being embrace from below (around her hips) by an unclothed male who is facing away from the painter. They seem to sort of be suspended in air and are being “built” as their legs turn from flesh to large rectangular stones as you look down. There is a windy rickety wooden path that leads to the embracing figures and there are cloaked, hooded workers of some sort assembling the stones. The workers are much smaller that the subjects, but maintain human proportions.

If anyone can think of a painting they’ve seen that looks like this or painter who might have done this, please let me know.

Since it’s nudes, I’m pretty sure the post would get blocked if I posted a picture of it. (And I might even get banned.)

There are no metallic golds at all in the picture. There are some kind of golden highlights, though, as the background looks like dusk and there’s some light reflecting off the stone.

I’m not sure that it’s quite classical enough that art teachers would show it - it’s a little on the erotic side. It’s not Klimt for sure - it’s very realistic looking.

No - I don’t really know my way around ebay. I’m looking other places though.

It looks a bit like Boris Vallejo to me.

I looked at some samples of Boris Vallejo to see if I could find this artwork, and I could not. By comparing the artwork, this print doesn’t look like Vallejo, but looks like someone trying to copy the style of Vallejo. This print doesn’t have the depth of the Vallejo art.

Thanks, dixonart, I also went through as many of Vallejo’s works as I could at the computer in one sitting - didn’t see anything that made me think that this was definitively his. I think you may be on to something, though, about someone trying to copy his style. The more I look at it, the more it looks like many book cover artworks and sci-fi calendars I’ve seen, and I had never really considered that before.
