The file for dependency then file for academic financial aid while also filling out corresponding non-dependent status paper. If you have now where to live and no income, you won’t pay a single cent and depending on the number of classes you take might even get a couple of thousand back.

I think you should focus on trying to get your GED, have you thought about that?
Make an appointment with the financial aid officer at the school and tell him everything you told us and ask him what your options are. What do you want to study in school? I think you can’t go to college until you finish getting your GED. So your first step is to try to get the GED. Next contact the financial aid office. Government grants and loans are very good if you are living in the US. They dont charge you a lot of interest and they make it managable to pay back once you have finished school. You should be able to get a loan enough to support yourself while in school. Its a pretty good system here in America. I am really glad we have this system.

You can obtain your GED at most local community colleges. Go there and speak to their financial aid office. They will walk you through all the steps.

He has a GED and is supposed to get financal aid, but he has no car, house, etc, and I’m confused as to whether or not he’d be able to pay for a place to stay, food, school, and rent and bus fare with just financal aid.

No not with just financial, that will just pay for classes. If he needs additional money, he should go to his local unemployment center and see if he is eligible to collect, if he isn’t they would still be able to help him find a job or tell him in what ways the state could help him.

He is not able to receive unemployment, he has little skills, he has little job experience, no transportation, and signifigant mental and physical health problems, but he’s not eligable for disability. Also, he has no way to get to an unemployment center. Thank you very much for the suggestion, though, I really appreciate it!

And if you need a financial aid, you should search for a site with Government grants , loans and can give free grant information like free grant search website.

Staying in highschool and having your dipolma is way better than getting a GED that will not take you nowhere in life.
