Okay so if any of you read my last post about recycling bins at my school, then know that im not going to sit around and let them win.

i dont care if they supply the recylcing bins or not. im going to do it with the help of some of my friends. we will take the matter into our own hands and hope that we do what we wanted in the first place. with or without the schools help. but i kinda need some ideas for fundraising. if you have any good ideas. please tell me.

:) This is just terrific!!! I hope your local paper runs a story about you taking matters into your own hands when the school couldn’t bother to get recycling containers!

well, first off i would start a recycling or environmental club at your school. That way you can have a pool of students willing to support your cause. Then you can get them to all help with a fundraiser. You can sell ribbons during environmental awareness days (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Environmental_awareness_days), collect bottles and cans from the members and sell them to recycling stations, and stuff like that. Then you can buy some cheap bins. At my school, there is a recycling bin for paper in every classroom, and a lot of teachers just have a cardboard box for bottles and cans.
So to start off you can get a bunch of cardboard boxes and ask teachers if u can leave it in their classroom with a sign saying: “bottles and cans” then collect the contents every week to sell to recycling stations.

Maybe speak to your local wheelchair association, because in Ireland my school does often collect bottle caps and so many bottle caps = a new wheelchair for someone, so maybe the wheelchair place might support your campaign and in return you collect bottle caps for a new wheelchair, that way you are helping a lot of people.
