can somebody help me?

? i have a friend who doesn’t know Christ, and i really want to lead him to the Truth, but he is so set in his ways. i don’t want to scare him off or “preach” at him (which is what he says i do), but i’m concerned, cos he’s an amazing friend and i feel like it’s my duty to help him.. any advice on what to say or any good Bible verses for new believers that i can share with him?? thanks :)

he doesnt want you to tell him the word of God so dont. you cant force it down his throat. that is what pushes people away from Him more. dont share verses with him. its kinda like the saying “you can lead a horse to water, but you cant force him to drink.” thats really all you can do. find a way to show him God, but whatever you do, DONT force him to believe. its tricky. but if he doesnt want to believe, dont make him. it is ok to believe in other things. my brother is Wiccan. (not a devel worshiper!) his beliefs are alot different then mine, but i still love him and accept him for who he is. not what he believes.

you can’t force someone to believe. they believe what they believe on their own terms, not yours. it isnt right of you to feel like its your duty to lead him to god. let him do what he wants. let him do what he wants. scaring people off isnt exactly the best thing to do.

invite him to a fun church even t and talk about the even…for example and afterglow or sometimes they do fun things together like ice skating..etc.
Then while you’re there he’s bound to ehar some prayer or something and it might help.

if he wants to understand it he will. its a fairly simple concept, im sure hes smart enough to get it.
accept jesus=heaven, dont accept=hell. even children get that. perhaps he just doesnt want it.

Of course your friend doesn’t understand, he is a non-believer and there is nothing you can do about that. All you can do is be a good christian yourself, let your light so shine and pray for your friend, BUT anything else will turn him off not only Christianity, but it will also cost you the friendship. I say this as a Christian myself and I have seen that happen and it has even happened on this website, bunches of times.

i do believe in prayer
and i get what you’re saying, because its hard at first to accept how wretched and sinful we are… i think that at first we should be told how much love, joy, and happiness faith can bring.

you really think that believeing just because of the threat of burning for eternity will get you into heaven anyways?
thats a lie, and based on fear.not loving god, which is what gets you in the pearly gates.according to that old book you base your entire faith on, anyways.

Maybe since he’s bothered by you telling him about your religion so often, you should just show him by being a good example.

The bible says “Seek, and you shall find . . . Knock, and the door will be opened unto you.” That means if he’s looking for truth and salvation, he’ll find it.

It does not say “Open the door or we’re going to knock it down and come in and force you to believe” which is kind of what it sounds like when Christians constantly tell other people that they should be Christians.

This is one of the major reasons I’m not a Christian:

An ‘all-knowing’ god with a ‘plan’ who is ‘perfect’ and ‘all-merciful’, would not intentionally create flawed beings, then send them to burn in an ‘everlasting lake of fire’, simply because they were mislead in a cruel and confusing world.

love and respect your friend for who he is, preaching to him will do you no good in his state of mind. you can not push your beliefs on some body else. if you lay of you will be suprized what will happen one day. you can not teach somebody something they do not want to learn. a person must have the desire or need to be enlightened. but you for sure are an amazingly wonderful friend to have. “let go and let god”
god bless

If you are a true and honest believer in Christ your example will eventually attract him to believe. Everything you do or say must be what you believe in!

the Lord did NOT create flawed beings. He created us perfectly in His image, and then during the fall of man in the garden of Eden, all of us were tainted by sin and all of us will be.

One persons truth is another persons garbage!

Just because I have found truth in salvation, that doesn’t mean that I can make someone else believe that it is true. You are simply going to have to stop and just PRAY!!!

Whether you realize it or not you are being offensive to non-Christians. I have found Truth in my faith, but all I can ever do is just be a light, just like the bible says.

Maybe this post will help you. It’s about this website, but I think it could also be used out in the real world.

grand for you. so what? we dont believe that. and you telling us that repeatedly just makes us close our ears and hear blablabla im right youre wrong youre gonna burn in hell.

get a grip, and read your bible. that will tell you to PRAY for his soul, instead of incessantly pestering him about it. do you not believe your god is powerful enough to work through you? does it have to be all you up in peoples faces? sounds like you dont believe in god very much at all if you dont believe prayer will help.

GOOD FOR YOU………A loving and true Christian would want to share the Love of Christ with others, especially those we care about. What is the great commission? To spread the TRUTH to one another, that we can have everlasting life when we choose to accept Christ into our hearts and obtain redemption. It is your obligation and duty to share, not critisize in any way, then pray for him. You have then planted the seeds,,,and then the Holy Spirit will do the rest. Don’t worry, cast those up and just be the salt and the light. God Bless.

A great book is (THE CAST FOR CHRIST, by Strobel)Harvard Graduate reporter sets off to investigate the existence of Christ. Recently, it was made into a DVD, but I haven’t seen it. However, it was a great book.

Not sure why so many people wrote you were forcing faith on him. That isn’t true. But you know sometimes people don’t want to accept Christ and acknowledge the existence of God because that would mean having to face their wrongdoings.
As an old friend once told me….”It was scarier to accept that God was real because if he was real I was sinfully in the wrong” So, it was easier for him to
not believe and accept that he was okay and could do all the sinning he wanted. He saw being a Christian as a limited life full of restrictions. Not all that pleasure he was reaping from his fleshful life. However, he knows the Lord now. He has True JOY. Happiness are those fleeting fleshful moments, but JOY is the real long lasting freedom of knowing Christ and having Salvation.

God Bless you, and never be afraid to share your faith. Relegion…..Christ didn’t like relegion. Being a Christian isn’t a relegion……

“I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 (NIV)
