I am a new Christian.
I was saved 12/22/2007. I have done somethings since that time that I didn’t think possible. I have been a shy person my whole life I listen most of the time more than I speak. I have felt like I had been given several messages to read in church and Have done that. It was a big accompolishment I think. But with God all things are possible. The only problem I am having is finding my peace and joy other places like at work. I do have people telling me that God gives you peace and joy. But I don’t have that all the time. I do feel like some people that have peace and joy is because they feel like they are doing nothing wrong as a christian but can’t see the hurt that they are causing to others by there actions and their words. I am sure if I thought I did nothing wrong then I would be at peace and have joy all the time. But if it takes hurting people and not being able to see what you are doing wrong then I would rather just have peace and joy every now and then. I don’t know this is just what I am feeling about this.

I’ve been a Christian my entire life. Let me tell you this: there is no such thing as a constant state of peace and joy. There are the mountains high and the valleys low. You just have to know that God is with you through it all.
the ultimate goal of Christianity and for that matter all religions
is to be in a state of complete joy or bliss.
Few people achieve this but it is is the ultimate goal.
I have been a saved for about 27 yrs. It is so easy to feel that joy and peace when you are in a Christian enviroment because basically there is no oposition. Its another to continue that feeling in the world.
Try to focus on your relationship with Christ doing what you know is right in his light. When you are in the valley as king stated earlier it is sometimes hard to remember what the mountain feels like… Let me make a suggestion, take pen and paper and right down how - what where when and how you felt when you where experiancing a spiritial high. In the bible Jesus/God instructed people to place rocks etc in remembrance of certain events. Let your spiritual journal be a rock for you. Each time you experience happiness in the Lord write it down. It may be a youth event, revival or you may lead someone to Christ.
After you start your journal and you are in a valley read your journal and remember. I hope this helps you. I wish you many years of happiness in our Lord Jesus.

God Bless you… and welcome to the body of Christ. (((hugs)))
I got saved in June of 1985, so, I have had time to have a few experiences. It is an awesome thing to serve the Living God. It has been a wonderful journey, at times heartbreaking, other times joyful. Sometimes sad. Other times happy.
That is the beauty of serving the Lord. It is always different. So many things come across our path, as we journey along.
Some good, some bad, some challenging, some tempting. However, this is ordained, to be a part of our walk with the Lord. Once he accepts us as his, he starts his work in our lives.
I agree with the ones above, about the mountains (which are great), and the valleys, (which are not so great), but, one thing is constant, Jesus does not change. He will be there for you, he will not fail you. He may not do things the way you expect, or desire sometimes, but, he will never leave you.
The more you seek him, the stronger his presence will be in your life. Pray constantly for protection, and direction. This will help you to avoid many traps that you might otherwise fall into.
The workplace often times is the most challenging place you can be. But, on the bright side, it gives you a chance to excercize your spiritual muscles. To walk out what you are learning. To be challanged to be all you can be, with his help. This may cause you to pray much more than you would otherwise, but, this is a good thing.
Seek your strenght, thru fellowship, and his spirit, and his word. Thru prayer and meditation, you will be ready to face the world. We are leaky vessels, and have to be constantly refilled.
Seek prayer from others, that will help you to be strong.
May God always watch over you and keep you in the palm of his hand.

i agree with this post ,,, king is right i guess no such thing as eternal peace on earth i believe the eternal peace is when we die ,, we have some little taste of it on earth but not all of it , just that little bit to keep us going on … i felt peace at sometimes in my life but it didnt stay more than some hours really… this is life not heaven so expect the road to be bad :P…

well i do believe that nobody can reach the goal of being all peaceful and joy at all time ,, i can say that they may learn to be more peaceful with problem and stuff but everybody will get angry and pissed at some point and nobody is perfect and nobody will reach perfection on earth and who seek to be perfect or to have complete wisdom , good luck with that ^_^ ….
It seems to me that you are doing the right thing, treating others as Christ would want you to, the Lord doesn’t want us to hurt others. If you see someone hurting another then the best thing that you can do is take both people to the Lord in prayer. I can assure you that if they are doing wrong they do not have perfect peace and joy within the Lord, they might have complete bliss within their puffed up selves, but hurting others is not pleasing to the Lord.
As far as your own walk, it is true that as Christians we do have trial and tribulations, but we can overcome these by staying in the center of God’s will, the closer walk we have with the Lord, the more peace and joy that we recieve. Sometimes the trials and tribulations we go through are the Lord trying to teach us something and sometimes we are slow learners, but the blessings are out of this world when we do claim the victory.
I would suggest that you remain steady in prayer, Bible study and song. Gospel songs can be so uplifting and help us in so many ways. I also suggest that you remain in a solid Bible preaching church that can help you grow in the knowledge and wisdom of Christ.
Take Care and God Bless

I am blown away by your post! You are very wise for being such a young Christian. It took me years to learn what you’ve learned in just a few months. I believe that in these last days God will speed up the understanding for those who are babies in the Lord so they’ll be ready for His return.
If you keep looking to the Lord, He will fill you with His peace. Even when the world gets worse, if you continue to grow in Christ, you will be at peace.
God bless you!! Keep your eyes turned to Him, pray all the time, and read His holy book, the precious Bible.
Thank you all this helps. GOD Bless You All!
people have probly said this to you already (i’m to lazy to read all the posts) but you can’t have peace and joy all the time. save that for heven. it is the hardships and sufferings on this earth that help us get closer to God. So, embrace your suffering and shar it with anouther so that they may help you.
