Ebay users will now be forced to use Paypal only.

EBAY Australia users will be forced to use PayPal, prohibiting direct deposit and money orders as payment methods.

Direct deposit and money orders will be banned by eBay from June 17th.

All items now have to be paid for online, using a PayPal account or a Visa or Mastercard transaction through PayPal.

Theyve just announced it in the ebay notices at the bottom of your ‘Myebay’ page. Paypal is owned by ebay. Which, I guess makes it obvious why theyre doing it.

ive been a registered ebay for 2 years and now it will be more dificult if there arnt much funds in paypal and u want to buy something expensive.

Thats a good point actually. Because it takes 3 days or so to get money from your bank account to paypal

I can see some people getting frustrated with the whole thing and dumping ebay. This could well be their undoing. Im already thinking of signing up with Oztion, the Australian version of Ebay. They dont charge listing fees, they only charge a small fee if your item sells. Ebay charges both. Listing and selling fee.
