Allow me to indluge in one massive rant here…

and its about a very sore subject so excuse me if i become a bit ott.
I hate how superfical people are today. I mean ridiculus standards are set by these disgustingly skinny teen celebs, for whom a celary stick is pigging out, and then the modeling agencies, magazines and talaent scouts jump on them because some how suddenly its cool to look ill. Then youg people see this and think that if they are not a size 6 or below with clear skin ( little do they realise that is done by AIRBRUSHING), and bleach blonde hair then they are not worth looking at. It’s causing so many problems like depression, eating disorders and self esteem its stupid.
I mean im a bigger girl myself. i mean im a size 14 to 16 (english size…not sure what that is in any other countries sizes) and im seen as fat by most people. i remember being at high school and feeling like a freak because i wasn’t a starlett wanna-be. im over it cause im in college now and people are mostly more mature then that. i say mostly cause not all people grow up. is it just me or does any one else think that people should appretiate natural beauty?

annoying isnt it! I know what your talking about. Im reasonably thin but I feel a pressure to be even thinner. Its like some thing you always worry about. Why cant we just be happy with the body we are in?! why does the media have to push this kinda ****? its a pity coz big can be beautiful just look at Queen latifa :D

I’m only in junior high, and the pressure they put on us is some of the worst. I’ve seen girls have mood swings and start yelling at each other because they haven’t even eaten enough to think clearly. And even though I do kinda enjoy her music, I blame alot of it on Miley Cyrus. The stuff was still around, but not near as bad until that perfect skin, ex-cheerleader, size 0, two models in one showed up.

hmmm… indeed… u know who i tihnk alot of the blame rests on? paris hilton, lindsy lohan and nicole richie…… they are sooooo skinny andthey seem to take some weird pride in it, andthe media are all over all three of them, and as far as pop icons go, they are three of the biggest. But it isn’t just the wieght thing that they are having a bad influence on people with. i mean all of them are in and out of prison/rehab because of drink and drugs. thats no role model for young girls, yet they continue to be so, cause the media “coolifies” them (yh thats my own term lol). where as people who are genrally nice and dont want to be that way are seem as uncool cause they are trying not to be a first class twat
