Has anyone read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair?

I have to write an essay on it. and How does it call into question the validity of Social Darwinism and the promise of laissez-faire capitalism? Im really frusterated. I also have to talk about the impact The Jungle had on America and I think I can do that im just ahhhh you know homework. Help if you feel like it. thank you.
