Money help: I have a terrible credit history.I need about 10,000 pounds to - Help.com

I have a terrible credit history.I need about 10,000

pounds to pay off everyone i owe money to.I now have a good job with reasonable pay,but due to my stupidity in the past i cant get a loan anywhere.I want to give my wife and kids a fresh start, its the least they deserve.
Does anyone know how i can get this sorted legally?Any ideas very welcome.

Contact each creditor directly and ask to be put on a payment plan for an amount you can afford to pay each month. Then be really scrupulous in making those payments.

They want to settle with you; they don’t want to sue.
