Person help: Would you move to another country to be with someone you met online ? - Help.com

Would you move to another country to be with someone you met online ?

I mean, if you’d gotten to know each other over a period of time, exchanged photos, talked on web cam, talked on phone etc. And felt a nice connection. Would you actually move to another country to be with that person ?

I think you should go on a couple of visits first. Are you talking about moving just like that? Without meeting face to face first?

Yeah, I think a visit first would be a very smart idea.

I wouldn’t even move to another town to be with someone I met online. I would have to spend some time with them in person first. People are rarely the same online as they are in person.

Visiting first is a very reasonable idea, but I can believe that in reality it will be just the same as online. But still being careful won’t hurt.

Every time that I’ve met someone online and then in person there have been differences. Most people tend to be more open online than they are in person. Just like if you are dating someone for a while and then move in with them, you always learn new things about them after moving in with them no matter how long you’ve been dating. Not necessarily bad things, just different. This is just my opinion based on personal experiences.

jcd I don’t have much experience with moving in, but usually I’m able to get more or less right idea of someone who gets close to me even if they’re far physically. At least most of times my instinct didn’t deceive me.

What does that mean? Far physically? Never heard that before. Far away, far from, fair?

I just mean online, long distance, not in person.

When you can spare ten minutes uninterrupted, watch this and I guarantee you will be riveted to your seat. The Middle Eastern situation to us here is such a muddle, few of us understand, Iraq, Iran, Suni-Shiite, Islamic Jihad, Palestinian, Lebanon, Israel, Muslim-moderate/radical, etc. This is a first-hand account from a well-educated, experienced woman who watched her homeland infiltrated, overrun and nearly exterminated by our enemies. Afterwards, you will have a much clearer understanding of what has been just headlines and politically biased media releases. I found it to be worth every second. She even paints the picture of present day Eurabia…the Europe, that is no more and why.

I can’t find words strong enough to encourage you to see and hear this.
Please find time to listen to the entire text and the questions that follow. She doesn’t mince words, so brace yourself.
