You need to RELAX. I believe with anxiety and depression that you think and try too much/too hard.

It might be you have a lot of stuff on your mind. Write a journal at the end of your day. Don’t eat anything for an hour before you go to sleep. Turn all the lights off. Eliminate noise.

Don’t exercise. It energizes you.

Take a warm bath.

Are you on medications? Tell me what they are and the side effects.

Eat soul food and healthy food. Balance. Have buttery macaroni and green beans and mash potatoes with gravy and honey ham! That rich heavy food will put you to sleep.

Don’t forget breakfast. Cut down on coffee.

Get off the computer and hour before you go to bed.

I’ll think of more things you can do. Natural things.

You need to go and see someone who won’t just stick you on sleeping pills. You are obviously wound up so much and some types of depression are also known to cause insomnia. Lack of sleep is a hugely unrecognized psychological/psychiatric daily punch in the mouth, even one or two night’s bad sleep impedes mental and physical functioning so you must be feeling like hell. Try looking at the National Sleep Foundation website for some tips on sleep hygiene and relaxing, but please, you do have a serious problem you need to work out. Value yourself enough to know you don’t have to put up with this and are legitimate in seeking help.

wow, youve done pretty well. because its been medically proven that you actually cant go more than two weeks without getting extremely mentally and physically ill from lack of sleep. to the point where every time you stand you passout. and you sure as **** couldnt string a sentence together like you just did.

the current world record for staying awake is 11 days straight.

try again buddy.

I also suffer from insomnia that is mostly brought on by major depression. Sleep meds don’t seem to work for me anymore. I have found valarian root helpful in the past for both insomnia and anxiety. You may want to ask your doctor if you can use it. You could also try some tea. I have times when I can’t function at all. Right now I am fairly awake which is strange for me. If you want to chat send me a message.
