Do you wish you had parents like the ones on television.
they’d make you study, ground you if you broke the rules, have a college fund and be saving for your first car - do these parents exist?

No, because the mother I was bless with was loving, careing, strong, and all ways told the truth even if it hurts.
MAS1–unmasked! Hooray!
Funny, but when you I read “parents like the ones on television” in your headline, what came to my mind was NOT the ones you describe in your subsequent text.
The FIRST image that came to mind was Al and Peg Bundy on “Married with Children,” sniping at each other with their children’s assistance.
THEN came the two generations of parents on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” locked in a mutual hate dance with each other and everyone around them.
THIRD I thought of all the sets of parents on “Seinfeld,” and how their hedonistic children abhor them.
My FOURTH image was the Homer and Marge Simpson model of TV families, with the bozo of a husband and the good wife whom he doesn’t deserve.
Basically, I think of TV parents as simpering morons who are unloved by their ungrateful brats.
This is why I spend all my TV time watching home decorating and real-estate shows!!!! I don’t want to even THINK about TV parents, much less HAVE or BE them!
I guess not, I could never be me with those parents, theyd drive me insane.
for all my parents shortcomings and the utter lovelessness between all of us they were good parents.
Raised me good with no particular bias, I was allowed to choose my own path and they have helped me some in trying to fix my problems. Then, some form of love in my home might have been nice
I love my Mother very much! Yes, I just wish my life was like the Cosby family.
I didn’t have a happy childhood.. but I am making my adulthood happy… it is nice to have control of that!
I like the parents on ‘8 Simple Rules’
HAHAH! How would you like to have parents like the ones on Malcom in the Middle… all of that screaming?? hahaha!

who wouldnt want the legendary son of tex ritter, john ritter for a father?
John Ritter was the best. He reminded me of my own dad (died when I was young) - I was devastated when he died - I wish they’d kept the programme 8 simple rules though as I quite liked it with Grandpa and CJ - it was cosy
Funny as one.2wi’s answer is, the Addams Family characters probably treat each other better, with more love and respect, than a lot of other families on TV! That’s what’s so cool about them, I think. Monsters with tender, loving hearts and strong family values. Thanks for pointing this out, one.2wi! What fun!

besides .. what man could resist Morticia.
Ahh! That’s delightful to know! Well, you certainly made your point with me, because you got me started thinking about them in a new way.
Yeah, wouldn’t you like to light up a room like the dark Mortiicia?
