depression. It inhibits more than anxiety, I think… better to be aware and alive even if u are anxious…

I think anxiety is worse. I don’t think it’s possible to have a “depressiony attack” but there are anxiety attacks, and those are really bad.
You might disagree with me, but I think anxiety is a lot harder to get over than depression.

For me it is hard to answer that question because I suffer from anxiety anyway. When I try to cure my problem but fail I then become depressed. So actually I would say anxiety is harder to cope with. Anxiety doesn’t help with your confidence and low confidence will make you depressed. (It wasn’t that hard after all :D)

I would say depression since it is life threatening.

Yes, so one thing leads to the other.
Perfect explanation :)

MsC, that’s just how I have experienced both anxiety and depression. I still believe that some people experience it the other way around.

I think they go probably go hand in hand, circular argument.. just depends on the situation and the starting point …but understanding whats going on and where you want to go is the the most important thing…

I personally don’t think neither one is easy to cope with. It is difficult all around. Consider those that have both, how must they feel?

Depression because it can inhibit anxiety and people kill themselves because they are so depressed but rarely because they are so anxious.

I don’t think it can be or should be measured.Everyone copes and has different levels of these things, theres other factors involved too.tolerance for one.I figure if someone says they are suffering, then they are.It doesnt matter how much or how deep the feel about. Its not whats important. Why do you ask BTW?

But, and a big BUTT,Anxiety can be overcome where depression ,at least bi-polar,is present for the most part, for life.

Anxiety leads to depression… I’d say that it isn’t better to choose one over another. Don’t even ponder it. Just avoid them both, the best you can (speaking in terms of ideals). I sure wish I could do that… I am anxious and an overthinker, dominantly. Depression sinks in whehn anxiety overwhelms me. So one can’t quite be chosen over another…

i dotn thikn either is easier. theyre both equally hard. i have been diagnosed with both extreme anxiety and depression and neither of them are easier let me tell you that.
anxiety messes with your mind…. makes you feel like your helpless and cant do anything right. you feel like youll never get over it and you start to wonder how youll ever have a real life if you are scared of everything…

but then depression makes you feel alone and scared. and then that can lead to suicide. but for me i had anxiety and it brought on depression. ocd, add etc. so theyre all kinda connected. i dont think you can really compare them since everyone deals with them differently. if someone has manic depression and onyl a bit of anxiety theyre obviously gonna say depression is worse but if someone has more anxiety than depression theyll say anxiety is worse.
so it all kinda dependson how you deal with things. but in my opinion neither is harder to cope with cuz they both ruin your life.
